For Ateneum Gala 2025 at the Finnish National Gallery, I created a moving sculpture in black, a form that gathers on the floor and rises on the body, living somewhere between garment, object and shadow.

It began with one question: what if a piece of clothing followed its own logic instead of ours?

Being included in Vogue Scandinavia’s story on the Ateneum Gala and “today’s top Finnish designers” feels meaningful. Not for the spotlight, but because this night placed Finnish fashion inside the same walls as our cultural treasures, asking the viewer to meet it with the same patience and attention.

Kiitos to everyone who helped build this moment. It felt less like styling a look and more like constructing a small world together for one night.

And from January it continues its own path as part of the Gallen-Kallela, Klimt & Wien – Sessionist exhibition at Ateneum, where the piece will be on view 13.1–2.2.2026.
