Ngorongoro Crater 2016
The Ngorongoro is the gateway to the Serengeti and the first night on most tours leaving Arusha. It’s packed with zebras, rhinos, lions, hippos, flamingos, elephants, etc. It’s like a zoo without fences… so much so that I had to fight off a monkey with a telephoto lens when it tried to steal my box lunch through the roof of our Land Rover. Full panic. Good times.

Labor Day weekend backpacking trip to the eastern sierra did not disappoint. Over 4 days, we did 38 miles and 12k of elevation from Cottonwood Pass to Whitney Portal. No summit because of conditions, but will definitely be back to try again. Epic weekend.
