“Thinking About You Vol 2.” is coming to @thepowerhousemuseum Thurs March 9 as part of Powerhouse Late: Instrumental.
DIOLA presents “Thinking About You” series is focused on the power of storytelling and experiences shared at that moment in time. Featuring iconic experimental soul outfit @Ladiwho who’s worked with some of the world’s best producers including Wajeed (Detroit) and Mu (Fat Freddy’s Drop), supported the likes of Erykah Badu, Jhene Aiko, Digable Planets, Gill-Scott Heron on his UK/EU tour at the Royal Albert Hall before his passing, @fatfreddysdropnz and many more. Ladi6 is one of New Zealand’s greatest musical legacies and prolific contributions to global music culture!
Joining the bill is @agirlartist whose own music is taking large leaps and bounds at just 22 years of age. From the underground Hip hop/RnB scene of Western Sydney A.GIRL has emerged into national recognition with a swag of raw talent, attention-grabbing moments of musical brilliance and a sing-rap style uniquely hers. Raised in Australia, A.GIRL also proudly owns her Maori heritage.
In 2021, Gemma Navarrete (@gemmasjams) debut single “Older” earned her first sync placement in Season 2 of the Stan Original TV show Bump. That same year, the songstress was shortlisted in APRA’s Women in Music Mentorship program (with mentorship by @thesallycoleman ) and selected for APRA’s first Song Generations in Canberra (selected by Mark ‘Diesel’ Lizotte).
Come join us for a special presentation where lived experience on love, courage and honour will echo through the cavernous space of the powerhouse. A performance and vibe never to be seen again. How are we achieving this? Because you’re there and we’re thinking about you. Always.

From the underground Hip hop/RnB scene of Western Sydney @agirlartist has emerged into national recognition with a swag of raw talent, attention-grabbing moments of musical brilliance and a sing-rap style uniquely hers.
Her live performances with her full band are a roller coaster
ride of spitting bars, vocal virtuosity rarely seen by a rapper, and
spoken word poetry that grabs your attention from the first line.
A.GIRL is the family nickname given to this 22 year old artist - real name Hinenuiterangi Tairua – a proud Maori woman raised in West Sydney. She was the Winner of Next Big Thing at the FBi Awards, winner of triple j Unearthed’s festival slot at Listen Out, was tipped as a rising star by UK’s Wonderland Mag and listed as “one to watch” by Ticketmaster.
A.GIRL’s sound is rooted in r&b and soul but she also raps like a boss as showcased on acclaimed performances on triple j’s LIKE A VERSION, triple j’s Bars Of Steel, and Red Bull 64 Bars which solidified herself as an MC with a unifying message ripe for the age we live in – celebrating cultural, racial & gender diversity with outspoken inclusion.

Sonic bubblers on the cards this Friday for Re.Sonãncia’s second edition at @deadwax.enmore . Strap in for another anthropophagic music exploration as I invite some of my favourite DJs/diggers/selectors to dig freely into their sonic and emotional crates.
I am super proud and excited to have lined up this second edition around two multi talented women that in their own ways, are staples of the music and cultural scene in Sydney.
For over a decade, Krystel Diola known as DIOLA, has been a dynamic force in the local music community. From organising events for emerging electronic soul musicians under Behind The Front since 2012 to her roles in publicity, artist liaison, radio (FBi Radio alumn), co-founding a record label (Low Key Source), events, community engagement and festival programming. She has been a solid staple in the underground scene. I dare to say she is one of the most versatile DJs in Sydney. You may have seen her as the official DJ for our local star Dobby, or holding the floor for house dancers, or maybe soulful arvos at Soul of Sydney. @justdiola equals solid groove and knowledge.
Closing the night will be the Argentinian born, chef by trade, passionate music collector @melodypak1 . Music discovery has been a daily ritual since her teenage years. She believes in the power of music as a storytelling medium, where one can use your imagination and put a context to a feeling. Last time I saw her playing she teased 200+ passionate Brazilians while delivering an incredible house set and multiple flavours (hero moment!)
This Friday you are in for a treat, yours truly warming things up, come early, stay late, open heart and dancing shoes!
#resonancia #sydney #deadwax
#wrapup of the #DroppinScience @wearedelasoul, @oddisee and the @goodcompnyband, and @misskaninna tour. 4 cities back to back and a lot of great conversations about culture, music and swapping music drives. What a privilege to experience - thanks for trusting me!
Big love to the all female team: @_aligurl, @rose.m.k, @lara.sulo and Miss Kaninna for their extraordinary talent, professionalism, and expertise. Nothing quite like rolling with an all female team who know their shit and get things done.

Jumping on the #2016 bandwagon.
I toured with brilliant humans, sang parts of the set to large crowds (retired that part of my life), helped bring countless events to life - before lockout laws killed business. I stepped into radio with sunset shows on FBi, filled in on Double J, and moved through circles of musicians who genuinely cared about the culture. It wasn’t about algorithms or the gram.
I met Paris Groovescooter (RIP) while promoting Electric Wire Hustle. With his belief - and the backing of real music journalists - we sold out shows, I also co-built a record label with a pal I still work with today. More than anything, I built trust. And if I was able to bring my friends along for the ride by booking them, co-signing them to others, I did just that. It was always about friendship, and blessed to have many that are now parents. Life continues to move on as culture changes and life right now has changed immensely.
Many of those friendships still hold me today.
Then, I sat alone at the edge of a wharf in Byron thanking the universe for my ability to create, participate and support a part of the ecosystem.
Bring on 2026.

Soulful Sundays. Back on the DJ gig duties this week. I’ll be playing at @acehotelsydney this Thursday night as part of the @lowkeysource and @justdiola October takeover. Expect a lot of D’Angelo and Solquarians joints and maybe a couple of my own flips like this. Managed to bump this one out during Forest’s nap time 🥲

SYS Sister Sounds, DIOLA and SXSW present:
Beyond The Deck - Innovation and Tension in Electronic Live Music.
Electronic musicians often find themselves excluded from the category of “live music,” their craft relegated to background entertainment rather than recognised as performance art. This panel interrogates the cultural hierarchies that shape who is booked, who is legitimised, and who remains on the margins.
From the lens of live music, electronic artists embedded in underground music culture, we ask: Who gets to define what counts as live music? How do issues of isolation, migration histories, and classism play out in the booking and recognition of electronic artists? And what power dynamics underpin the stages, festivals, and funding structures that dictate which sounds are amplified?
Through the lens of identity, digital tools, and POC creators, we explore how electronic musicians are both shaping and resisting mainstream definitions of performance. This conversation will spotlight the innovation and resilience of third culture creatives and ask how industry gatekeepers, audiences, and policymakers can shift frameworks to honour the artistry and community impact of electronic music.
Moderator: Shiv Sharma (EMC, Mixmag AU/NZ)
Panel: Maggie Tra (SYS Sounds Sister, Pho The Girls), Kase Avila, Nabii, Figs
When: 16th October 3pm
Where: @abercrombie.sydney
Thank you to @justdiola @sxswsydney & the artist's for jumping on board with this one.
We finish off the panel with an electronic jam.
The Instagram Story Viewer is an easy tool that lets you secretly watch and save Instagram stories, videos, photos, or IGTV. With this service, you can download content and enjoy it offline whenever you like. If you find something interesting on Instagram that you’d like to check out later or want to view stories while staying anonymous, our Viewer is perfect for you. Anonstories offers an excellent solution for keeping your identity hidden. Instagram first launched the Stories feature in August 2023, which was quickly adopted by other platforms due to its engaging, time-sensitive format. Stories let users share quick updates, whether photos, videos, or selfies, enhanced with text, emojis, or filters, and are visible for only 24 hours. This limited time frame creates high engagement compared to regular posts. In today’s world, Stories are one of the most popular ways to connect and communicate on social media. However, when you view a Story, the creator can see your name in their viewer list, which may be a privacy concern. What if you wish to browse Stories without being noticed? Here’s where Anonstories becomes useful. It allows you to watch public Instagram content without revealing your identity. Simply enter the username of the profile you’re curious about, and the tool will display their latest Stories. Features of Anonstories Viewer: - Anonymous Browsing: Watch Stories without showing up on the viewer list. - No Account Needed: View public content without signing up for an Instagram account. - Content Download: Save any Stories content directly to your device for offline use. - View Highlights: Access Instagram Highlights, even beyond the 24-hour window. - Repost Monitoring: Track the reposts or engagement levels on Stories for personal profiles. Limitations: - This tool works only with public accounts; private accounts remain inaccessible. Benefits: - Privacy-Friendly: Watch any Instagram content without being noticed. - Simple and Easy: No app installation or registration required. - Exclusive Tools: Download and manage content in ways Instagram doesn’t offer.
