Very excited that grid-type.com was awarded in the Tech and Web categories, as well as Recognised in the Typography category of the 2025 @internationalcreativeawards.
GridType is a grid-based type tool inspired by historical grid-based type design with stencils, such as the Plaque Découpée Universelle from the 1870s.
Create your own stencils by selecting a grid and adjusting various parameters, such as the number of rows, columns, or the level of complexity. Draw your letterforms within these grids and download them as a font file.
Full case studies of Awarded and Recognised work are published on the International Creative Awards website creativeawards.international

In this workshop we explore how type design can become a process of encoding, translating ideas, data, or emotions into visual systems. In typography, letterforms always encode more than just the words themselves. Their form, structure, and rhythm become part of the message and shape how we experience written language. This workshop is led by Katharina Nejdl (@katharinanejdl), a graphic designer, developer, and educator interested in using digital technologies such as web, augmented reality, and artificial intelligence as graphic tools. No experience needed, but don’t forget to bring your laptop!
You can find tickets, and more information about Katharina and this workshop via the link in our bio.

Aleksandra Samuļenkova is a Latvian-born type designer based in the Netherlands. She designs for Latin, Cyrillic and (occasionally) Greek, and consults on the former two scripts.
Aleksandra is known for her typeface Pilot—one of the few contemporary type designs that has been cast in metal, as well as for her award-winning Cyrillic and Greek extensions of notable typefaces such as IBM Plex.
Aleksandra also specializes in designing diacritics and special characters for the Latin script, and enjoys lecturing on the topic at various educational institutions, among others—her alma mater—Type and Media Master programme at the Royal Academy of Art in the Hague, and Type@Cooper in NYC.
Katharina Nejdl is a designer and developer based in Amsterdam. She recently published her website grid-type.com, a grid based type tool, which she will talk about during this evening.
“What does a digital publication look like? How do posters become participatory? What new perspectives does AI open up for design?” Katharina Nejdl deals with these and other questions in her work. As a designer and developer, she is interested in using digital technologies - such as web, AR and AI - as graphic tools. Katharina Nejdl studied at the Sandberg Instituut, UdK Berlin and ZHdK. She teaches creative coding and gives workshops. In 2019 she founded the digital literary magazine (www.andshymagazine.com), which explores new forms of digital reading, writing and publishing.

In this workshop, we’ll explore how typefaces can convey distinct personalities, moods, and narratives. Typography isn’t just about choosing letters; it’s about crafting voices and characters through type.
In this session, we’ll start by dissecting the unique “character” of well-known typefaces, examining how subtle details—like curves, angles, and proportions—can communicate different emotions and ideas.
From here, we’ll exchange characterizations and reinterpret someone else’s typographic characters into a new typeface. No prior experience in typography is needed.

GridType is inspired by historical grid-based type design with stencils, such as the Plaque Découpée Universelle from the 1870s – a single stencil that allows you to draw all the letters of the alphabet.
On grid-type.com, you can create your own stencils by selecting a grid and adjusting various parameters, such as the number of rows, columns, or the level of complexity.

GridType is a grid-based type tool. There are nine different grid types available, giving an insight into my research about grid construction. Some grids are geometric, based on rectangles, triangles, or circles. Others are inspired by how different display technologies, such as pixels and segments, have influenced type design. Additionally, there are references to historic grid-based type design, including Wim Crouwel, the Bauhaus and the Plaque Découpée Universelle.

The Instagram Story Viewer is an easy tool that lets you secretly watch and save Instagram stories, videos, photos, or IGTV. With this service, you can download content and enjoy it offline whenever you like. If you find something interesting on Instagram that you’d like to check out later or want to view stories while staying anonymous, our Viewer is perfect for you. Anonstories offers an excellent solution for keeping your identity hidden. Instagram first launched the Stories feature in August 2023, which was quickly adopted by other platforms due to its engaging, time-sensitive format. Stories let users share quick updates, whether photos, videos, or selfies, enhanced with text, emojis, or filters, and are visible for only 24 hours. This limited time frame creates high engagement compared to regular posts. In today’s world, Stories are one of the most popular ways to connect and communicate on social media. However, when you view a Story, the creator can see your name in their viewer list, which may be a privacy concern. What if you wish to browse Stories without being noticed? Here’s where Anonstories becomes useful. It allows you to watch public Instagram content without revealing your identity. Simply enter the username of the profile you’re curious about, and the tool will display their latest Stories. Features of Anonstories Viewer: - Anonymous Browsing: Watch Stories without showing up on the viewer list. - No Account Needed: View public content without signing up for an Instagram account. - Content Download: Save any Stories content directly to your device for offline use. - View Highlights: Access Instagram Highlights, even beyond the 24-hour window. - Repost Monitoring: Track the reposts or engagement levels on Stories for personal profiles. Limitations: - This tool works only with public accounts; private accounts remain inaccessible. Benefits: - Privacy-Friendly: Watch any Instagram content without being noticed. - Simple and Easy: No app installation or registration required. - Exclusive Tools: Download and manage content in ways Instagram doesn’t offer.
