This is a cultural fusion of the Japanese Traditional Kimono and the Nigerian Yoruba Gele (head tie).
Inspired by the similar visual echoes in both traditions with silhouettes that celebrate individuals. The stern love, dignity, and beauty of elder women. By merging the kimono, a symbol of grace, tradition, and ceremonial reverence in East Asian cultures, with the gele, a sculptural Yoruba headwrap that signifies identity, pride, and status, the shoot becomes a visual dialogue between two powerful cultures.
