🌟 A reminder that all of the things your ancestors programmed into your DNA has allowed your line to survive and resist for centuries. Remind yourself that you and your communities hold power that they want to extinguish, but never have been able to.

Probably doing a riso run of these soon, prints going towards mutual aid efforts. Will keep yall updated!

Sat down with @lilyjaniak a few weeks ago to reflect about my time so far with @bravatheater and what we’re doing to make sure we can continue to stay here as a cultural pillar on 24th St. I’m so honored that this organization trusts me in this role, and we’re going to keep (sustainably) working hard for our artists & community 🌟

This was a smashing success. Participants told us it was the most interesting event they’ve attended, that art spaces should do more programming like this, and that they learned so much but also had lots of fun.

It’s so special to work with a collaborator who is as enthusiastic and organized as Matthew Villar Miranda. The seeds for this event started as food-based hang out ideas that I pitched to @genericmatt as part of our burgeoning friendship (slide 9). A few months later, he began working on the “Dream Jungle” exhibition for San Francisco Arts Commission, and invited me to be a featured artist. When we were thinking about possible public programs to compliment the exhibition, he brought up my earlier food hang-out suggestions, I added a tropical fruit section, and it was a perfect match. 🍍

Thank you to Maysoun Wazwaz @picklesthecat__ and @theo_lau from @sfac_galleries for their key assistance in pulling off this juicy event. And thank you to all the attendees who trudged out on a rainy and windy day. Sorry to those who couldn’t make it — the event filled up quickly!

🍌
Check out the final Dream Jungle event with Al-An deSouza and adrian clutario this Saturday, May 2, 4-6pm! I’ll be there, and it’s the last day to view the exhibition.

Sneak peak of the menu for our 4-part Flavor-Tripping event today at @sfac_galleries. We are currently at capacity but if any seats open up we *might* be able to add a couple walk-ins.

Health precautions: Please stay home if you are sick. Space has good HVAC system, and we will be running 3 air purifiers with HEPA filters and open two tall windows.

This is part of "Dream Jungle" exhibition, on view through May 2, 2026. (Link in bio.)

I’ve been reviewing recent work samples and realized I never posted video from this beautiful ritual work that initiated my collaborative relationship with @jicban & @peekaboosalinas 💙

…until now : a site-responsive performance ritual that pays homage to the shapeshifting survival strategies of artists and communities who grapple with how much of their intersecting identities can wholly appear in different spaces. Inspired by manong Carlos Villa’s reclamation of ritual practices, this work was an offering for healing to invoke our wholeness in these spaces and to wrestle with the discomfort that comes with being and becoming visible. -And- what a heck of a site to respond to, the Carlos Villa: Roots & Reinvention exhibition curated by dearest @tza_lagoldberg & Mark Dean Johnson. Public programming curated by the amazing @teeqeetee !!!!!!

Spesh special thanks to @carlosvillaart for the permission to create this custom sawwal set by Janna San Felipe
++ special special thanks to Kuya @pao_silog and his team for video & sound documentation !
++++ of course the amazing team at @sfac_galleries @picklesthecat__ @jackieetal

The crew is manifesting new opportunities to create more community rituals in this way, so plz send us some ⚡️ 🌟 or reach out if you have an idea!!

A curated selection of songs from our beloved Tita Edith—something I look forward to every time I come to the Philippines.

1. End of the World
2. …this is a 10 minute video.. I don’t expect you to watch this, but if you do, you’re in for a treat: a full program, complete with a prayer invocation, a family performance of Lupang Hinirang, words of wisdom, and a performance of “Roses are Red”

I had the most incredible, priceless experience of doing a solo immersion with the Tarog Ati in Nueva Valencia, Guimaras. I stayed with Aiza and her family for three days, and got a deep dive into the responsibilities and obligations of being a Babaylan and manggagamot.. nuances that are steeped in relationality and reciprocity that we just don’t see or understand in the US/diaspora. I went in with the intention of learning and just seeing if I could keep up—and unexpectedly got drawn into ceremony in ways I would have never imagined. (I’m not sure how much I can talk about it here/let’s chat in person/im sure I will write about it soon!) I left Iloilo with a deep clarity about how I’m supposed to be applying my medicines, and with a new family. My deepest gratitude to Aiza (tribal secretary), Nanay Fatima (chieftain), Nanay Tibay (manggagamot), and Nanay Merle (Babaylan). Salamat gid!

Transmissions quilt made for @blossom_drearie by @kimbr.
Photos by @new.maps.j

Transmissions quilt recipients are invited to go through a photoshoot with their quilt near a body of water that’s special to them.

Many of these photos are for sale to help fundraise to pay our artists. The prints are available at 11”x14” through our project shop in b1o. If you’d like a different size, DM me directly and I’d be happy to make it happen.

View Instagram Stories in Secret

The Instagram Story Viewer is an easy tool that lets you secretly watch and save Instagram stories, videos, photos, or IGTV. With this service, you can download content and enjoy it offline whenever you like. If you find something interesting on Instagram that you’d like to check out later or want to view stories while staying anonymous, our Viewer is perfect for you. Anonstories offers an excellent solution for keeping your identity hidden. Instagram first launched the Stories feature in August 2023, which was quickly adopted by other platforms due to its engaging, time-sensitive format. Stories let users share quick updates, whether photos, videos, or selfies, enhanced with text, emojis, or filters, and are visible for only 24 hours. This limited time frame creates high engagement compared to regular posts. In today’s world, Stories are one of the most popular ways to connect and communicate on social media. However, when you view a Story, the creator can see your name in their viewer list, which may be a privacy concern. What if you wish to browse Stories without being noticed? Here’s where Anonstories becomes useful. It allows you to watch public Instagram content without revealing your identity. Simply enter the username of the profile you’re curious about, and the tool will display their latest Stories. Features of Anonstories Viewer: - Anonymous Browsing: Watch Stories without showing up on the viewer list. - No Account Needed: View public content without signing up for an Instagram account. - Content Download: Save any Stories content directly to your device for offline use. - View Highlights: Access Instagram Highlights, even beyond the 24-hour window. - Repost Monitoring: Track the reposts or engagement levels on Stories for personal profiles. Limitations: - This tool works only with public accounts; private accounts remain inaccessible. Benefits: - Privacy-Friendly: Watch any Instagram content without being noticed. - Simple and Easy: No app installation or registration required. - Exclusive Tools: Download and manage content in ways Instagram doesn’t offer.
