where do i start??? tears welling up in my eyes as i write this, i moved to new york city 4 years ago today. my dream was to pursue story telling, fashion, and creative expression in any facet that i could. before moving here, i told my parents, “i’d rather sleep on a bench in central park chasing a dream, than wake up another day living in a reality that isn’t mine.” and so i did. and it was the hardest thing i’ve ever done but to me there was no other option. i’d rather live of life of grit and art than live a life without passion at a post graduate job that kept me afloat and alive but not living.

there’s been SO much sacrifice, rejection, and failure that landed me to this beautiful celebration on friday and i am so grateful. even the place we had dinner at @barcaliconyc, is owned by the same people who own Ray’s, which is a bar i used to be a door girl at!!!!!! my first two years in the city i worked miscellaneous jobs, including working a whole year in night life, being a door girl at Catch and Ray’s. being reminded of those moments made this moment even sweeter!!! full circle in a cosmic way.

where do i start??? tears welling up in my eyes as i write this, i moved to new york city 4 years ago today. my dream was to pursue story telling, fashion, and creative expression in any facet that i could. before moving here, i told my parents, “i’d rather sleep on a bench in central park chasing a dream, than wake up another day living in a reality that isn’t mine.” and so i did. and it was the hardest thing i’ve ever done but to me there was no other option. i’d rather live of life of grit and art than live a life without passion at a post graduate job that kept me afloat and alive but not living.

there’s been SO much sacrifice, rejection, and failure that landed me to this beautiful celebration on friday and i am so grateful. even the place we had dinner at @barcaliconyc, is owned by the same people who own Ray’s, which is a bar i used to be a door girl at!!!!!! my first two years in the city i worked miscellaneous jobs, including working a whole year in night life, being a door girl at Catch and Ray’s. being reminded of those moments made this moment even sweeter!!! full circle in a cosmic way.

a huge thank you to @styledbyphil for putting me on my first cover, creating a universe that Kitty lives in, and championing a magazine dedicated to authentic expression. to my sweet @badboyrory, my first connection to @ladygunn and someone i’ve known for YEARS, i hope i’m creating with you until the end of time and then heaven too!!! 💕
