The @knowled_global MG4KR is one of the brightest full RGB lights available right now!

It covers 91% of the Rec.2020 space giving you maximum color fidelity.

This light is an absolute game changer for night shoots though.

Whenever we do night exteriors, we’ll often have 4K HMIs up on a condor with Steel Blue gel on them, because I like having a stylized cyan moonlight.

The problem though is that we go through so many gels over the course of a shoot, since the gels tend to fade after several hours of being in front of a bright HMI light.

Whereas with this I can just dial that same color in and never have to worry about any gels.

So it absolutely kills the use of 4K HMIs for me!

The 110° beam angle also allows me to cover a really wide area if I’m just trying to light the background for example.

But also when using modifiers like our 7 foot GL7 Lantern, the MG4KR fills the lantern really evenly due to this wide beam angle.

Additionally, if I’m on a location with 16amp circuits (which is in most newer buildings), I’m able to power the light just using house power.

But even if it’s an older building, the MG4KR has a power limit function, so I can limit its power draw to for example 2500w and run it at 80%

When shooting music videos, having battery powered lights is key, as these projects are often more chaotic than commercials or features. On this set for @33mata ’s song „Up Up Up” we have used amongst others the @knowled_global MS60R’s and TP4R’s which sped up the process significantly.
