It’s the final heat and it’s the turn of the South West. The first chef representing the SW is @kooze who is head chef at 2 * @daterrarestaurant in London. “Da Terra,” meaning “from the ground,” reflects a philosophy rooted in origin and connection. Born in São Paulo and shaped by both Brazilian and Italian heritage, Rafael brings together these influences in a style that is at once skilful, expressive, and playful. His journey has taken him through Italy and Spain before returning to England, where his culinary story first began.
Joining him is Da Terra’s Head Chef, Mark Tuttiett, who many will recognise from this year’s Great British Menu (South West). His standout main course was one of the most memorable dishes of the series.

SENSORA was created in collaboration with brothers @kooze and @jtuttiett, who lost both their parents to glioblastoma.

Their mum died aged 42, just months after diagnosis, when Mark and James were children. Years later, their dad was diagnosed with the same tumour and died weeks later. After years of fundraising in their parents’ memory, the brothers wanted to create something different. Something rooted in how brain tumours affect the senses, and the brain itself.

Working with The Brain Tumour Charity, they created SENSORA, a multi‑sensory event bringing together food, music and light to raise funds and awareness.

On 5 May at the Outernet, The Charity is hosting SENSORA, a one-night experience of food, storytelling and a full‑evening soundtrack and DJ set from Bicep.

Inspired by @punkroyale.copenhagen and a drunk conversation at @joaquin.wests wedding where I told @feelmybicep that OPAL changed my life (cringe) I pitched @sarahmcbriar a fundraising concept and we were off on a journey that I wouldn’t have ever believed we could pull off. Every ticket supports the work of The Brain Tumour Charity, funding vital research and support for those affected by brain tumours - a disease that receives just 3% of national cancer research funding.
