Griselda Alvarez, LVN, and Patricia Gutierrez, LVN, Family Medicine, Panorama City Medical Center, were enjoying what they thought was a typical day at the gym when suddenly, they heard that a young man outside had been shot. Without hesitation, they rushed to his aid, even though they knew the danger.
It turned out he had been shot twice, and things looked grim. But he was incredibly lucky. Griselda and Patty knew exactly what to do. They worked together seamlessly, side by side, to control his bleeding and keep him awake until the ambulance arrived. Thanks to their quick thinking and dedication, he survived. #EverydayHeroes #KPPanoramaCity
When Tracy Watson arrived at Los Angeles Medical Center for her husband’s heart surgery, she knew she was facing a long and uncertain day. While clinical teams worked behind the scenes to provide life‑saving care, support came from an unexpected place.
Franklynn Burgess, a longtime surgical services volunteer, stepped in to guide Tracy through what to expect, when updates might come, and how the day would unfold. Drawing from his own experience as a former patient, he helped ease the weight of waiting.
“It completely changed how I got through those hours,” Tracy said. “He helped me feel supported. It made all the difference.”
Stories like this reflect the powerful role volunteers play in supporting patients and families during some of their most vulnerable moments. #KPLAMC #NationalVolunteerMonth

At Los Angeles Medical Center, we see every day how prevention can keep people healthier and out of the emergency room.
In a recent Univision interview, Dr. Brian Gándara shared why many ER visits are preventable, often linked to falls or chronic conditions like diabetes and high blood pressure that aren’t well managed. Recognizing early warning signs and getting care sooner can help stop small issues from becoming emergencies. #KPLAMC
Think diabetes only affects older adults? Dr. Wendell Osborne, a family medicine physician at @kplacounty, debunks this common #diabetes myth and explains why prevention is more accessible than many people realize. #DiabetesAwareness #KPDowney

We loved bringing our members and community together at our Santa Clarita Medical Offices for an engaging Love Your Liver Workshop centered on education, movement, and connection.
Led by Ruth Rosen, MD, Madhu Hardasmalani, MD, and Andy Gallardo, the workshop explored the science of liver health and detoxification, shared patient stories, and offered practical lifestyle tips on nutrition, movement, exercise, rest, circadian rhythm, and reducing toxic burden. Participants actively engaged through dancing, resistance‑band movement, balance exercises, and breathing meditation.
The session concluded with a recitation of “Renovación,” a Spanish poem by our resident poet Carmen Ferrero, who also showcased her original artwork. It was a meaningful day of learning, creativity, and community. 💙 #KPPanoramaCity #CommunityHealth #PreventiveCare

To celebrate #NationalVolunteerWeek, we’re highlighting the work of Marie Ashmore, a Kaiser Permanente South Bay volunteer who creates memory bears from garments belonging to loved ones who have passed.
Marie presented a memory bear to fellow volunteer Rose Sarner, who has served at Kaiser Permanente South Bay for more than 27 years and recently lost her husband.
In addition to the bears, Marie uses leftover fabric to create small hearts that carry special meaning. Inspired by the belief that “hearts are connected by an invisible string,” she ties two hearts together with a ribbon and includes them as gifts for additional family members.
Happy National Volunteer Week! #KPSouthBay

If you find something interesting on Instagram that you’d like to check out later or want to view stories while staying anonymous, our Viewer is perfect for you. Anonstories offers an excellent solution for keeping your identity hidden. Simply enter the username of the profile you’re curious about, and the tool will display their latest Stories. Features of Anonstories Viewer: - Anonymous Browsing: Watch Stories without showing up on the viewer list. - No Account Needed: View public content without signing up for an Instagram account. - Content Download: Save any Stories content directly to your device for offline use. - View Highlights: Access Instagram Highlights, even beyond the 24-hour window. - Repost Monitoring: Track the reposts or engagement levels on Stories for personal profiles. Limitations: - This tool works only with public accounts; private accounts remain inaccessible. Benefits: - Privacy-Friendly: Watch any Instagram content without being noticed. - Simple and Easy: No app installation or registration required. - Exclusive Tools: Download and manage content in ways Instagram doesn’t offer.
