Set within a mature pine forest, this residence cantilevers over the hillside, providing a panoramic view of Lake Tahoe. The garden spaces are integrated with the forest through native plantings and a selective arrangement of boulders surrounding the two buildings. The outdoor environment includes a shared woonerf, separate driveways, a stone patio overlooking the lake, a lawn area nestled within the forest, a brook at the main entry bridge, and a roof terrace. Additionally, a funicular winds its way down to a lakeside cabin and pier.

Shaped through an extensive public process, the existing play area will be expanded and rebuilt from the ground up, setting a new standard for inclusive play in Salem. Drawing inspiration from the nearby Willamette River, this inclusive space will welcome and accommodate people of all ages and abilities.
