The making of OBSERVANT 🌸

Observing life makes everything that much more exciting and magical. I feel though as if we do seem to forget that quite often… or at least I do.
But every time I slow down, something shifts.

Suddenly I notice how people walk, how the air feels different, how the birds live out their own love stories, how the sea breathes.
And when I pay attention like that, my whole day feels fuller - it’s like there is suddenly more time.

I’ve been trying to do the same with my creative process.
Just watching myself create without judgment… noticing the thoughts that come up, the little sparks, the moments where I get stuck, the tiny breakthroughs.
It’s wild how much clarity comes from simply observing instead of forcing.

This year I started creating again - however, I was not sharing everything as much as I want to. Fear of messing up the frequency makes me freeze. I don’t want to stay frozen. So I am inviting courage to mess up into the next year.

When are you most creative?

I find it easier to sketch at night. It could be the state of drowsiness after a whole day, or maybe something happens in my brain when the sun goes down. In any way, late evening is when I can create with less judgement.
The inner critic can be quite harsh. The only way to handle mine is to find times when it’s sleeping.
I hope you find yours.

Also I need a name for this tangled lady. Any ideas? 🌸

My name is Austeja, I am a 29 year old Lithuanian that loves art, pop punk, singing, cats and cartoons - and I bet you do to.
I've been collaging since 2017. I stopped when people started paying attention. Now I’m trying to make them daily again, just because I miss how it felt.
For a long time, I thought that whatever I make needs to be impressive and perfect. Now I'm learning to share everything 'cause I want to. Here's my attempt to be consistent.
