Art and technology have a big part of both of our lives: always tinkering with art and expressing ourselves with technology. Artifact is a culmination of a lifetime of learning, yet it embodies all that there is still to learn.

We started this project as a creative collaboration—a way where we can create and inspire others to create; a place to reflect on the past and observe our futures.

If you’re a friend (or curious stranger) in San Francisco, keep an eye out—we’ll be shaping light, sound, and story to create spaces for you to explore. The Artifacts are almost ready to be discovered, and maybe you’ll find what you’re looking for.

I am so exited to announce that I will be screening my first music video at 8pm on May 29th at @tiat.place in San Francisco. “UNFOLD” is a 22-minute music video featuring my original compositions, ranging from Spanish guitar to melodic house to techno.

For my first release, I wanted to create a truly unique listening experience. With the help of 20 incredibly talented friends including @artifact.av, @maxharlynking, @lashan, and so many others, we have created a video that brings the message and the vibe of the music to life.

After the screening, we will have a short discussion of the video, and I will perform a set of brand new music I’ve been working on for the past few months.

Honored to present my (@dan_frandisco) first public ambient + downtempo set at the inaugural Pantheon One event by @artifact.av. A special mix inspired by arps, textures, space, and liminality.

The projection follows the laser’s path in real time. Light leaves a glow that lingers long after the beam has moved on, and every drop in the music rekindles it. The laser burns, and an Artifact is left behind.

Top frame: the closing of DJ MARIA’s set—these laser visuals were designed for her set.

Middle frame: Two lasers trace the same path across the surface, and the projected visuals are mapped onto that same surface. The glow on the you see are the visuals through the projector, not the laser.

Bottom frame: We live-coded the laser projection mapping in Touchdesigner during the set. The visuals are generated through feedback driven by the laser’s position. What you’re seeing is the raw laser and projector output, with audio-reactivity pulled from the decks—every beat pushes a fresh burn across the screen.

We had a rare beach weather day in SF, so we had to hit the sand and see the waves come crashing down.

The day felt nostalgic, like a day I knew I would look back years from now. Big thanks to Kellen for his original track - “Retreating Memories”.

Have you ever felt like your past was raining on your future? And while the rain never stopped, the lights turned on, and let you find your way.

Sometimes San Francisco looks a lot like Gotham — these clips were filmed on my ride to the Ferry Building, while hauling some gear out there for an event we were setting up for. Mad props to Kellen and his original track - “Aimless Wanderer”.
