I’ve left my studio of 10 years. Claycat’s DOOM was the first production and Ghosts n Chainsaws was the last.
Here are behind the scene photos of Room 2 “Cell - X” and the last 2 slides are from the moving out day.
It was a small set up, I had about a dozen people from Paris visit once when I was making them a commercial… and the producer was sort of horrified and asked “do you really think this space is big enough?” - no. It’s not really but when you have a table, play doh, a camera and plenty of time, you can do whatever you want and just as good as the bigger studio. The amount of times I hit my head on that rig as well, I knocked myself out once. Another chapter behind me. More claymation coming when I get the new studio set up.. if I can avoid getting cancelled by the mob, otherwise it’s an apology video instead.

Made for a Super 8 challenge.

I had a free entry for straight8, so I pulled together a bunch of mates one Sunday morning. Dale always likes to remind me he scattered his grandad’s ashes after we filmed this.

I made a loose plan over the weekend—timed how long I’d keep my finger on the trigger for each shot, then used those timings to edit together an audio track that gets submitted blind. That’s why the dialogue slips out like a bad dub.

It was a fun day with some of my closest buddies. Even if the film itself probably wasn’t worth posting online, I like that it was shot on film—and that, for that brief moment, we were all together having a good laugh.

Apparently we went for beers after, but I was so exhausted I don’t even remember. Fell asleep on the bus home and missed my stop.

A real doylem.
