UFO Publiek Programma #8
Donderdag 14 mei 2026 @cascoleuven
(The Public Program will be held in English)
14:00 - Daydreaming together for the next decade
16:00 - Visit Exhibitions at Cas-co Meet the artists of p.o.l.e.collective + Sofia Boubolis & Stans Vrijsen
GASTEN
- Stephanié Robin, @lefresnoy
- Keren Detton, @fracgrandlarge
- Ariane Skoda, @cwb_paris
- Aïda Sidhoum, @kunstinstituutmelly
- Klaartje Esch, @kunstpodiumt
- Simon Delobel, @kioskgent
This panel brings together curators, cultural workers, and organisers to reflect on evolving infrastructures of support. Moving beyond inherited models, it asks how residency formats, development programs and institutional responsibilities might be rethought in ways that are equitable, sustainable, and responsive to artists’ needs.
Rather than offering fixed answers, the conversation opens a space for collective speculation: what should we preserve, abandon, or invent? It examines the tension between artistic ambition and institutional precarity, asking how support structures can evolve without reproducing exhaustion, extraction, or inequality.

02.05.2026 | 11AM - 6PM SCREENING PROGRAM
Level Five - Gabrielle Petit
(continuous, starts every half hour)
with films by: Olivia Joret, @rune_peitersen
@emmavanderput @nicoletta.grillo
La Chasse (Field notes on a missing film),
Olivia Joret (2026)
The work displaces references across forests and interior spaces, treating sites as constructed and unstable. Taking its cue from the title, the film unsettles the logic of the hunt as a structure of pursuit and capture, while speculating on a form of objectivity that cannot be secured.
Mining Town, Rune Peitersen (2021)
The mines in and around Bor in the southeast of Serbia, have been an integral part of the city for more than a century. The film Mining Town is a registration of the landscape, the city and the mining activities. Videos and photos show the impact of the mines on the land- and cityscape.
Project Panorama, Emma van der Put (2026)
We circulate throughout the Botanical Gardens of Brussels, which were inaugurated in the nineteenth century. Here, Emma van der Put made video recordings of the sculptures that are still standing in the botanical garden today. The park becomes a time capsule, where past, present and future seem to be in suspended animation.
Oltremare, Nicoletta Grillo (2025)
Shot across the Tyrrhenian coast of Southern Italy between land and sea—in a marine sand quarry, an abandoned village, an industrial port, and a grotto church by the sea—the video explores, beyond human migration, what it means for a place to be left behind.
Part of Open Studio Days — Atelier in Beeld @kunstwerkt
Open 2nd May, 11am-6pm
Address: Rue Gabrielle Petit 6, 1080, Molenbeek

Escargot is a first tentative intervention to use the new vitrine space of Level Five’s Van Volxem studios as an exhibition space. In this initial intervention by Julia Liedel, Adler Murada and Melissa Ryke, Escargot is put forward both as the name for the show, as well as a name for the space that recalls the spiral shell of a snail.
This intervention pivots around our artistic practices, ideas that respond to the space and the theme ‘grit’. Grit, meaning: abrasive particles or granules, as of sand or other small, coarse impurities found in the air, food, water, etc. Or a firmness of character; tenacity; indomitable spirit; pluck.
Offered as a starting point for this collaboration, grit is ecologically, materially and politically relevant to the local contexts and ecologies of Level Five Van Volxem. Grit can be found within the renitent Wiels marais between busy train lines, the mettle of practicing artists and enduring artist studio spaces.
Part of Open Studio Days — Atelier in Beeld @kunstwerkt
Open 2nd May, 10am-6pm
Live Radio streaming from Dunkirk 3pm-5pm
Performance by Julia Liedel 5pm-6pm
Address: Av. Van Volxemlaan 380, 1190 Forest/Vorst

damdam is an interwoven web of collectives emerging from de Appel’s Curatorial Programme, the Lumbung Practice Temporary Master Programme at Sandberg Instituut and Gudskul’s Collective Study Programme in Indonesia.
During two days we got together for a Majelis (an assembly), studio visits, Footage therapy with Emili Allahbeigi, a collective walk around the city and finally a dinner 'My mother is Turkish' but not really' hosted by Asli Hatipoglu.
Thanks to everyone who joined and contributed!

Carte Blanche — Nicoletta Grillo
Nicoletta Grillo via Level Five
@nicoletta.grillo

Carte Blanche — Nicoletta Grillo

Tonight at WIELS! Welcome from 6pm onwards!
On 10 October, at 6 pm at WIELS in Brussels, KASK Curatorial Studies programme from Ghent, Level Five from Brussels and Rupert Alternative Education Programme from Vilnius invite you to take part in the workshop The Secretary, the Shaman, the Scholar, the Lobbyist, the Publicist, and the Virtuoso.
This participatory event is situated within an ongoing conversation between members from diverse disciplinary, cultural, and institutional backgrounds. The workshop creates a collective space to navigate and engage with cultural and political crises.
Through exploring practical tools for communication, collaboration, (un)learning, radical pedagogy and global cultural (re)action, together with you, we want to make ideas and thoughts felt.
Using methods of association and collage, we intend to reflect collectively in an open-ended process.
You are welcome to bring any materials you wish to share, but above all, we look forward to this moment of self-organisation.

On 10 October, at 6 pm at WIELS (@wiels_brussels) in Brussels, KASK Curatorial Studies (@curatorial_studies_kask) programme from Ghent, Level Five (@levelfive.brussels) from Brussels and Rupert Alternative Education Programme visiting from Vilnius will present an open educational session inviting artists, cultural practitioners and anybody interested to join in a form of a public workshop.
Rooted in processes of collective, self-organised learning, the gathering will explore forms of alternative education, collective methodologies, and the often-unseen aspects of artistic labour beyond individual production. Through a generative sequence of questions and responses, artists, researchers, and curators from varied disciplinary and institutional backgrounds collaboratively developed a set of propositions — or ‘codes of conduct’ — reflecting their shared values and visions for working in the arts today. This public session invites visitors to encounter and engage with these outcomes.
Participants of the 13th edition of the AEP: Alexandra Bondarev (@alexicalbond), Anton Karyuk (@antonkaryuk), Charles de Agustin (@charlesdeagustin), Charline Gdalia (@charlinegdalia), Chris Tegho (@cristegh), Janina Fritz (@janinafritz_), Luisa Berghammer, Marta Finkelstein (@marta.finkelstein), Oscar Mathieu le Bussy, SUNRS.
The programme in Belgium is led by AEP curator Goda Palekaitė (@goda__palekaite) with the help of our volunteer Gustė Kripaitė (@gustekripaite).

On 10 October, Curatorial Studies and Rupert Alternative Education Programme (AEP) will host a public educational session, inviting artists, cultural practitioners, and all those interested to participate in this open workshop.
Rooted in processes of collective, self-organised learning, the gathering will explore alternative educational models, collaborative methodologies, and the often-unseen aspects of artistic labour beyond individual production.
Through a generative sequence of questions and responses, artists, researchers, and curators from diverse disciplinary and institutional backgrounds have collaboratively developed a set of propositions — or ‘codes of conduct’ — that reflect shared values and visions for working in the arts today. This public session invites participants to encounter, reflect on, and engage with these ideas.
The workshop is curated by @laurammherman and @goda__palekaite , and @levelfive.brussels and will be moderated by @lailamelchior , coordinator at Level Five Artist Cooperative — a Brussels initiative that actively engages with the themes explored in the event.
The Instagram Story Viewer is an easy tool that lets you secretly watch and save Instagram stories, videos, photos, or IGTV. With this service, you can download content and enjoy it offline whenever you like. If you find something interesting on Instagram that you’d like to check out later or want to view stories while staying anonymous, our Viewer is perfect for you. Anonstories offers an excellent solution for keeping your identity hidden. Instagram first launched the Stories feature in August 2023, which was quickly adopted by other platforms due to its engaging, time-sensitive format. Stories let users share quick updates, whether photos, videos, or selfies, enhanced with text, emojis, or filters, and are visible for only 24 hours. This limited time frame creates high engagement compared to regular posts. In today’s world, Stories are one of the most popular ways to connect and communicate on social media. However, when you view a Story, the creator can see your name in their viewer list, which may be a privacy concern. What if you wish to browse Stories without being noticed? Here’s where Anonstories becomes useful. It allows you to watch public Instagram content without revealing your identity. Simply enter the username of the profile you’re curious about, and the tool will display their latest Stories. Features of Anonstories Viewer: - Anonymous Browsing: Watch Stories without showing up on the viewer list. - No Account Needed: View public content without signing up for an Instagram account. - Content Download: Save any Stories content directly to your device for offline use. - View Highlights: Access Instagram Highlights, even beyond the 24-hour window. - Repost Monitoring: Track the reposts or engagement levels on Stories for personal profiles. Limitations: - This tool works only with public accounts; private accounts remain inaccessible. Benefits: - Privacy-Friendly: Watch any Instagram content without being noticed. - Simple and Easy: No app installation or registration required. - Exclusive Tools: Download and manage content in ways Instagram doesn’t offer.
