Arab Barghouthi meets Irelands President, Catherine Connolly 🇵🇸🤝🇮🇪

Last week, Arab Barghouthi visited Ireland to meet with President Catherine Connolly and amplify the call for the freedom of his father, Palestinian leader Marwan Barghouthi, alongside the release of all Palestinian political prisoners.

During the meeting, Arab spoke about the daily suffering endured by the Palestinian people under the continued practices of the occupation. He also raised the repeated isolation and systematic assaults faced by Marwan Barghouthi inside prison, along with the abuse, starvation, and slow killing that Palestinian prisoners have been subjected to since the beginning of the genoc*de in Gaza.

The International Campaign and the Barghouthi family called on Ireland to increase pressure on elected officials and strengthen international advocacy efforts to secure the release of Marwan Barghouthi and all Palestinian prisoners.

Above all, I feel deep shame and guilt at my own profession which continues to peddle a perverse inverted journalism, where allegations of racism are hurled not at the perpetrators and supporters of ethic cleansing, apartheid and genocide, but at their victims and their supporters, smeared and disempowered as antisemites.

Gaza encapsulates the political and intellectual and moral bankruptcy of those who rule over us and those who are to tell us what to think. Western politics and Western journalism is in desperate need of renewal, we want to be a part of that and we hope you join us.

🚨 URGENT: GSF PARTICIPANTS BRUTALIZED BY iOF AFTER 40 HOURS AT SEA 🚨

Global Sumud Flotilla participants have just survived 40 hours of calculated cruelty aboard an IOF navy vessel in Greek waters.

They were denied adequate food and water. They were forced to sleep on floors that were deliberately and repeatedly flooded.

When the military moved to abduct two participants, Saif Abukeshek (Spain / Palestinian origins) and Thiago Ávila (Brazil), our crew peacefully resisted and the response was sheer violence.

Participants were punched, kicked, and dragged across the deck with their hands bound behind their backs. They suffered broken noses, cracked ribs and bloody beatings. Shots were even fired at them in the chaos.

The nightmare isn’t over. Greek police are now trapping our battered crew on buses, denying them the freedom to leave while Saif and Thiago have been abducted and taken back to Occupied Palestine.

Our participants remain unbroken: 60 participants have immediately launched a hunger strike.

This is a vicious attack on peaceful civilians. We will not look away. We demand their freedom and international accountability NOW.

Tonight we sailed from Marmaris to the coast of Rodos, Greece in solidarity with our comrades whose vessels were commandeered by Shayetet 13 and IOF Naval Forces, while 3 Greek Frigates were in the immediate region and while the Greek Coastguard ignored MayDay signals. Poignant that tomorrow is #MayDay
Our hostaged comrades will allegedly be released onto a beach in the very south of Crete from where they will be processed and ... politically bureaucratised.
Isreal does not actually get to enjoy it's perceived impunity, there IS an International Rule of Law and there are now 2 Arrest Warrants against B. Netanyahu for crimes against humanity. I've seen the ICC work before. I have faith that it will again in this instance and that within this life time they will face the consequences of their perverted, craven bloodlust.

After smashing engines and destroying navigation arrays, the military retreated—intentionally leaving hundreds of civilians stranded on powerless, broken vessels directly in the path of a massive approaching storm. Furthermore, communications with multiple vessels have been jammed, severing their ability to coordinate or signal for help.

While flotilla participants face a calculated death trap at sea, the people of Gaza remain the primary targets of a relentless, years-long campaign of starvation and slaughter. The logic being deployed tonight is identical: the israeli state creates the conditions for death, sabotages the means of survival, and then waits for "nature" or "circumstance" to finish the job.
