True stillness exists in table tennis. There is a sliver of a window of opportunity for each return, and that window is controlled by your opponent.

The active patience these athletes exhibit has taught me to stay present even in moments that are seemingly out of my control. I never know when that window might line up.

Why @tchalamet chose to go to the wonderful city of Chengdu at this time isn’t important. It’s a beautiful synchronicity that two of the only modern movies shot on film involving ping pong, “Marty Supreme” and @unseenolympiad are aligned in the Sichuan capital. Our movies are very different in content, but both interact with values surrounding sport in a way that envelops the audience in the mindset of an athlete. The fictional Marty is a win-at-all-costs player, while our real-life athletes are driven by an internal pursuit for greatness within, regardless of the outcome. Either way, timing is vital.

Unseen Olympiad is available to watch now on Youtube and Vimeo.

Nearly 150,000 accounts have watched our snapshots of this year’s Olympics unfold since Feb 17th. 1.2M+ views from nearly 1M accounts in 30 days. Surreal. Thank you!!! As the Paralympics soon begin and the Olympians have returned to their homes, I want to illuminate the purpose behind these posts.

One of the most invisible Olympic stories is the story of the spectator. Hundreds of thousands of people from around the world converge on the Olympic host country every two years. All of them have their own specific reason for attendance. Some raised an athlete from birth. Others are celebrating a family tradition. This often extremely inconvenient and rare migration is made by folks far and wide, and the most we hear from them is through chants and cheers in the background of a TV broadcast.

As a spectator, nearly every piece of the experience is branded by some key sponsor. The Visa souvenir tickets, the Coca-Cola Pin Trading site. McDonald’s once sponsored the Games and there was even a McDonald’s located in the athlete’s village. I would bet that not one single one of these spectators travelled to the Olympics just because they love McDonald’s. There must be something bigger than the commercial fan experience.

With this photo and video series, my sister (12-time Olympic attendee) @haleyjshaw , two close friends and first time Olympic attendees @juander.lust @theoffbeatsdept , and I captured the Games only from the spectator’s perspective. We strictly used cameras and equipment that were allowed in through standard venue security with no official accreditation. Our lenses were restricted to a max length of 20cm, per venue guidelines. This was to create a forced perspective in our work that brings the energy of an attendee of the Games to the forefront, to help you see what they see, and to help us get closer to the why behind this pilgrimage of sport.

Stefano, Camera Assistant for the Olympic Broadcast Service (OBS)

After my family and friends headed back to the USA, I decided to go to see Ski Jumping alone, with about 175lb of luggage and camera equipment. I took a train to Verona, slept overnight, then a train to Oro, a bus to Tresero, a bus to Panchia, dropped some things at my hotel, and then another bus to Predazzo. From there, I walked about .5 miles up hill to get to the entrance of the Ski Jumping venue, all with my 20lb Aaton 35mm Camera and a backpack with lenses, an extra magazine, and changing tent. I arrived to the venue about two hours before the trial jumps started, and sat for some time catching my breath.

Going into work, Stefano noticed me and my camera and was intrigued, so I showed him my normal demo of my camera when folks are interested. He asked how I would get access to the event with it, and he told me that the security here was extra strict, and because I only had a spectator ticket, they would likely deny my entry. Stefano, who had proper accreditation, offered to take my camera in for me past the initial security checkpoint, and seemingly, I had no other option, so I gave him my camera, he went ahead, and I waited in line to be let into the venue for about an hour.

There is a trust that Ski Jumpers have with everyone involved in the event who makes it possible for them to fly through the air. I felt a fraction of that trust here.

Once inside, Stefano delivered me my camera to the general admission area where I was positioned, and I was able to capture a moment of history on film- the first time in Olympic Ski Jumping that women were given equal access to compete on the same hill as the men.

This story is a reflection of the Olympic moments that happen for every single participant, coach, official, and spectator who takes part in the Games. People try their absolute hardest to even qualify, and still need that one helping hand to get them to compete.

Of course, I will share motion footage soon ⛷️

View Instagram Stories in Secret

The Instagram Story Viewer is an easy tool that lets you secretly watch and save Instagram stories, videos, photos, or IGTV. With this service, you can download content and enjoy it offline whenever you like. If you find something interesting on Instagram that you’d like to check out later or want to view stories while staying anonymous, our Viewer is perfect for you. Anonstories offers an excellent solution for keeping your identity hidden. Instagram first launched the Stories feature in August 2023, which was quickly adopted by other platforms due to its engaging, time-sensitive format. Stories let users share quick updates, whether photos, videos, or selfies, enhanced with text, emojis, or filters, and are visible for only 24 hours. This limited time frame creates high engagement compared to regular posts. In today’s world, Stories are one of the most popular ways to connect and communicate on social media. However, when you view a Story, the creator can see your name in their viewer list, which may be a privacy concern. What if you wish to browse Stories without being noticed? Here’s where Anonstories becomes useful. It allows you to watch public Instagram content without revealing your identity. Simply enter the username of the profile you’re curious about, and the tool will display their latest Stories. Features of Anonstories Viewer: - Anonymous Browsing: Watch Stories without showing up on the viewer list. - No Account Needed: View public content without signing up for an Instagram account. - Content Download: Save any Stories content directly to your device for offline use. - View Highlights: Access Instagram Highlights, even beyond the 24-hour window. - Repost Monitoring: Track the reposts or engagement levels on Stories for personal profiles. Limitations: - This tool works only with public accounts; private accounts remain inaccessible. Benefits: - Privacy-Friendly: Watch any Instagram content without being noticed. - Simple and Easy: No app installation or registration required. - Exclusive Tools: Download and manage content in ways Instagram doesn’t offer.
