In case you were wondering who you've just started to follow then this is me;
I'm a journalist who wrote a Sunday Times best seller about parenting teens. I am a 57 year old married mum of four children aged 14-23, three girls and a boy. I grew up in Cornwall but came to London at 17 after leaving Comprehensive to work on The Cornish Times and then The Wimbledon News.

I am a volunteer academic support worker with @intouniversity and alongside co-hosting @postcardsfrommidlife podcast I also write about parenting adolescents for the national newspapers and news websites. I regularly appear on TV & Radio talking teens.

I love cold water swimming which I also write about for @outdoorswimmer and I run when the knees permit.

I sat in the front row for decades so know about fashion and beauty too. I read a lot and was once a judge for @womensprize for fiction as well as regularly hosting panels @cheltfestivals and other bookish events.

When my kids were school age I put a note on the inside our front door which read: Do One Kind Thing Today. It was something of a family joke: ‘mum the old hippy’ (remember this was over a decade ago). But it has stayed with them as a core memory (so they tell me) and it made them think of the word ‘kind’ before they left for school which is sometimes not a kind place to be for a developing brain or mind. Now I use the phrase above ⬆️ to do a similar job, and maybe it is especially helpful for any parents or caregivers of teens and emerging adults right now enduring exam season. Research shows your connection with your child is by far the most influential thing in their lives, not social media, not the internet, your connection to them. This phrase 👆👆may provoke eye rolls, you may feel your kids think it has no value but it does hit hard underneath all that adolescent bravado & rejection (separation). So cross the cringe and say it at least once a day. You don’t have fix them, or fix stuff for them you perhaps just need to show them you believe they can do it themselves. That even if it doesn’t work out you still think this 👆

View Instagram Stories in Secret

The Instagram Story Viewer is an easy tool that lets you secretly watch and save Instagram stories, videos, photos, or IGTV. With this service, you can download content and enjoy it offline whenever you like. If you find something interesting on Instagram that you’d like to check out later or want to view stories while staying anonymous, our Viewer is perfect for you. Anonstories offers an excellent solution for keeping your identity hidden. Instagram first launched the Stories feature in August 2023, which was quickly adopted by other platforms due to its engaging, time-sensitive format. Stories let users share quick updates, whether photos, videos, or selfies, enhanced with text, emojis, or filters, and are visible for only 24 hours. This limited time frame creates high engagement compared to regular posts. In today’s world, Stories are one of the most popular ways to connect and communicate on social media. However, when you view a Story, the creator can see your name in their viewer list, which may be a privacy concern. What if you wish to browse Stories without being noticed? Here’s where Anonstories becomes useful. It allows you to watch public Instagram content without revealing your identity. Simply enter the username of the profile you’re curious about, and the tool will display their latest Stories. Features of Anonstories Viewer: - Anonymous Browsing: Watch Stories without showing up on the viewer list. - No Account Needed: View public content without signing up for an Instagram account. - Content Download: Save any Stories content directly to your device for offline use. - View Highlights: Access Instagram Highlights, even beyond the 24-hour window. - Repost Monitoring: Track the reposts or engagement levels on Stories for personal profiles. Limitations: - This tool works only with public accounts; private accounts remain inaccessible. Benefits: - Privacy-Friendly: Watch any Instagram content without being noticed. - Simple and Easy: No app installation or registration required. - Exclusive Tools: Download and manage content in ways Instagram doesn’t offer.
