Azubuike Akunne is an entrepreneur, technologist, and community builder based in Columbus, Ohio. He is the founder of NeuBite, a technology platform expanding equitable food access through SNAP-enabled retail and vending solutions, and AveNeu, a nonprofit grocery and art space focused on community health, culture, and economic development. With a background in human nutrition, business, and design, Azubuike’s work sits at the intersection of food systems, technology, and neighborhood revitalization. He is passionate about building scalable, community-driven solutions that create both economic opportunity and social impact.

Calling all high school students who are curious about the exciting world of STEAM and want to gain real-world skills and more.

Welcome to MOVES (Motivational Opportunities for Versatile & Engaging STEAM) - Makerspace Central's free summer high school focused workforce development program.

MOVES focuses on providing 25 high school students real skills and credentials through an engineering design challenge centered around drones. Students will build and test their drones over an 11 week period starting the week of June 1st and will demonstrate their knowledge, skills, and prototypes in a showcase day on August 15th. This showcase day will award an assortment of prizes to the student participants, in addition to the credentials and certificates earned throughout the program.

Student applications are now open through the end of May.No experience in engineering or drones required, just interest and curiosity. For more information, see the attachment for program logistics, application link, and student profile characteristics.

Granville’s Lab came to life. ⚡🧪

Nearly 75+ youth and parents/guardians joined us at Rickenbacker Woods for hands-on STEAM, food, music, play, and community.

Despite the early rain, we activated the learning center, playground, green space, and future trolley area — all in celebration of Granville T. Woods.

This is what it looks like when history becomes opportunity.
