Award winning artist and researcher
Speculative biology and posthuman forms.

Founder @marigoldff.lab 📍Berlin
Giusy Amoroso: Hybrid Anatomies and Contaminated Futures
Giusy Amoroso, winner of the fifth Open Call, constructs speculative ecosystems where biology and industry converge. Working across digital and physical realms, her practice examines how organisms adapt within environments shaped by contamination, technological intervention, and ecological instability. Rooted in her upbringing in Southern Italy’s “Land of Fires,” Amoroso’s work moves beyond narratives of destruction to focus on transformation as a condition of survival. Through hybrid anatomies—where metal, synthetic matter, and organic tissue coexist—she proposes new models of life that are both resilient and dependent. This conversation traces the conceptual, technical, and experiential layers that define her evolving practice.

From a real seashell I found by the sea this summer, to a synthetic sculpture installation. 🐚
Here is the exact process of how I engineered this specimen:
Phase I - The Origin: 3D scanning the raw, physical seashell to get a perfect digital replica.
Phase II - The Mutation: Bringing the scan into ZBrush to sculpt the new bio-mechanical anatomy, spines, and fleshy membranes.
Phase III - Containment: Engineering the mechanical tubes, clinical canisters / oxygen tank, and the glass installation environment.
Phase IV - Synthesis: Building the custom textures and subsurface scattering to make the skin look hyper-realistic before the final render.
Software: Polycam, Zbrush, Houdini, Redshift

Meet Dionae vertebralis, a physical specimen from the forme evolutae series.
Currently presented on a stainless steel medical tray, the specimen is undergoing the final stages of extraction for long-term preservation.
The evolution is just beginning. Stay tuned. 🧬

Specimen Study: Dionaea vertebralis (Forced Evolution) 🧬
This speculative mutation, part vertebrate and part predatory flora, explores life under the Anthropocene. Facing an ecosystem entirely saturated with heavy metals and industrial waste, biology adapts through assimilation. A speculative vision of how anatomy might weaponize our pollution just to survive.
Process: Specimen sculpted in Zbrush / mech installation modeled in Houdini / Rendered using Redshift

Just back from an incredible week in Paris! I had the honor of giving a keynote at the @newimages.festivalat @citedessciences and being part of the jury for the Virtual Worlds competition. My talk explored how growing up in southern Italy's contaminated environment influenced my research on adaptation, mutation, and survival. Thanks to @lost_alter for the invite, and to everyone I met for the inspiring conversations. A bientot!! 💕

Thank you @tedx_official 2024
In this TED talk, I discussed how digital tools allow us to challenge our perception of aesthetics.
I presented my art series “Forme Evolute” as a case study: a collection of posthuman specimens designed to break the rules of terrestrial biology. My goal was to show that beauty is not limited to what we already know in nature. It can be found in the unfamiliar and the alien.

Specimen 02 // Nature on life support.
In my native language, Italian,, one word refers to two different things: ippocampo. It names the seahorse, but also the region of the brain where memories are stored.
The connection dates back to 1587, when the anatomist Giulio Cesare Aranzi described a structure in the brain whose shape reminded him of the marine animal. He published the observation in De Humano Foetu Liber, considering at the time whether the form resembled a seahorse or a white silkworm.
This coincidence between anatomy and language feels particularly resonant today. As species disappear from the oceans, their presence shifts from the physical world into the realm of memory.
Specimen 02 is supported by a chrome prosthetic structure that preserves the anatomy of the seahorse. The metal frame functions as an artificial support system, suggesting a form of technological conservation. As the organism becomes increasingly fragile, the prosthesis remains, holding the memory of its shape.

Here are some of my favourite moments from the shows in Dubai @ushuaiadubai and Medellin.
For this project I expanded my 3D sculpture Neomorpha, which is one of my symbiotic organisms.
I used the sculpture as a base and let nature take over, letting flowers grow on this synthetic organism and shift its presence on stage.

The Instagram Story Viewer is an easy tool that lets you secretly watch and save Instagram stories, videos, photos, or IGTV. With this service, you can download content and enjoy it offline whenever you like. If you find something interesting on Instagram that you’d like to check out later or want to view stories while staying anonymous, our Viewer is perfect for you. Anonstories offers an excellent solution for keeping your identity hidden. Instagram first launched the Stories feature in August 2023, which was quickly adopted by other platforms due to its engaging, time-sensitive format. Stories let users share quick updates, whether photos, videos, or selfies, enhanced with text, emojis, or filters, and are visible for only 24 hours. This limited time frame creates high engagement compared to regular posts. In today’s world, Stories are one of the most popular ways to connect and communicate on social media. However, when you view a Story, the creator can see your name in their viewer list, which may be a privacy concern. What if you wish to browse Stories without being noticed? Here’s where Anonstories becomes useful. It allows you to watch public Instagram content without revealing your identity. Simply enter the username of the profile you’re curious about, and the tool will display their latest Stories. Features of Anonstories Viewer: - Anonymous Browsing: Watch Stories without showing up on the viewer list. - No Account Needed: View public content without signing up for an Instagram account. - Content Download: Save any Stories content directly to your device for offline use. - View Highlights: Access Instagram Highlights, even beyond the 24-hour window. - Repost Monitoring: Track the reposts or engagement levels on Stories for personal profiles. Limitations: - This tool works only with public accounts; private accounts remain inaccessible. Benefits: - Privacy-Friendly: Watch any Instagram content without being noticed. - Simple and Easy: No app installation or registration required. - Exclusive Tools: Download and manage content in ways Instagram doesn’t offer.
