Mamá, enseñándome su blusa favorita.
My grandmother showing me her favorite jacket, and telling me why it means so much to her.
Lately I’ve been thinking a lot about heritage, and inheritance. About fabric, and the way it carries history.
Especially for black and brownpeople.
Especially for Taínos.
I think about hands.
About labor.
About the generations of people who made things for survival,
for ceremony,
for love.
I think about cloth as memory.
As something that holds the shape of a body long after it’s been worn.
Sometimes care looks like feeding someone.
Sometimes it looks like keeping something safe for years. Sometimes it looks like a favorite jacket,
carefully folded,
waiting to be shown to someone you love.

30.
This year I found myself listening differently.
Listening longer.
Staying longer, and feeling more.
Letting moments be what they are before turning them into something else.
This year I paid more attention than I used to.
I paid attention to the things that were moving slower than I was.
To the things that don’t reveal themselves quickly.
To what stays after I’ve already moved on.
I learned that attention is a form of care, and care is a discipline.
Care takes effort.
Care takes time.
I traveled, I returned, I repeated.
I saw how easily time can feel linear when you are moving fast, and how quickly it becomes circular when you slow down enough to notice what you are repeating, what you are still trying to resolve.
I also traveled more seriously with my work.
I sat in rooms where I had to say what I was doing with more certainty than I felt.
I applied, I was reviewed, I was seen.
I kept showing up for myself,
and for the work.
I welcomed new life into mine, and made space for it.
So much new life entering the same world I’m still trying to understand.
It made everything feel more immediate.
More fragile.
More worth paying attention to.
And It changed something in me.
It made everything quieter and louder at the same time.
This year I wasn’t trying to resolve anything.
I think I was just trying to stay close enough to everything I was feeling.
I don’t feel finished with anything.
And that’s okay.
But I feel closer to the center of whatever I’ve been circling for some time now.
I’m still learning how to see.
Still learning how to stay with what I see once it’s no longer in front of me.
And still learning that paying attention is the work.
Thank you to those that read this far.

From my single photo album archive: photo of my mother, in her bedroom. 1998.
I look at this photo trying to understand her.
The version of her here feels distant from the person I know now.
Still, there’s something tender in it.
And something tired, too.
I don’t know who she was here yet.
But I love this photograph because it reminds me that
she had entire worlds,
feelings,
experiences,
and years,
before I could even understand them.
A version of her I never knew.
Still beautiful to me.
Happy Birthday mami.

My grandparents in their home in Esperanza.
I haven’t been here with them since I was eight years old.
The backyard used to feel enormous.
So full of life.
Fruit trees. Limones en el suelo. Plants. Grass everywhere.
A whole world contained behind the house.
Now I see how small it really was.
But the world feels bigger when you’re young.
Everything feels bigger when it’s new.
The backyard is the same, but it isn’t.
Everything stays where you left it, yet it still changes,
slowly, quietly, in little ways.

Polaroid of my mother, my aunt, and myself, the day my Aunt arrived to America. December, 1996. @polaroid
Thinking a lot about legacy.
About family.
What we build for ourselves and what we then leave behind for them.
For me.
I’m thinking a lot about our decisions and how sometimes we feel the repercussion immediately. And other times we feel them 30 years later.
I’m thinking about time, and how it passes.
Or maybe how we give it away.
I don’t remember this image, but it still belongs to me. This is part of my history that exists without my consent,
without my memory,
but not without impact.
Photography was a part of my life long before I knew it.
I didn’t know this was a moment.
I didn’t know I were being held
in a way that would one day matter.
I didn’t know I’d end up with this Polaroid in my possession.
But now I am the only one
who can hold both; the feeling
and the proof.
Our time should be spent making memories.
How lucky we are to have things to lose.
And how privileged we are to choose to make more of them.
I’m thinking about everything that never became a memory.
I wish I had more to lose.
The Instagram Story Viewer is an easy tool that lets you secretly watch and save Instagram stories, videos, photos, or IGTV. With this service, you can download content and enjoy it offline whenever you like. If you find something interesting on Instagram that you’d like to check out later or want to view stories while staying anonymous, our Viewer is perfect for you. Anonstories offers an excellent solution for keeping your identity hidden. Instagram first launched the Stories feature in August 2023, which was quickly adopted by other platforms due to its engaging, time-sensitive format. Stories let users share quick updates, whether photos, videos, or selfies, enhanced with text, emojis, or filters, and are visible for only 24 hours. This limited time frame creates high engagement compared to regular posts. In today’s world, Stories are one of the most popular ways to connect and communicate on social media. However, when you view a Story, the creator can see your name in their viewer list, which may be a privacy concern. What if you wish to browse Stories without being noticed? Here’s where Anonstories becomes useful. It allows you to watch public Instagram content without revealing your identity. Simply enter the username of the profile you’re curious about, and the tool will display their latest Stories. Features of Anonstories Viewer: - Anonymous Browsing: Watch Stories without showing up on the viewer list. - No Account Needed: View public content without signing up for an Instagram account. - Content Download: Save any Stories content directly to your device for offline use. - View Highlights: Access Instagram Highlights, even beyond the 24-hour window. - Repost Monitoring: Track the reposts or engagement levels on Stories for personal profiles. Limitations: - This tool works only with public accounts; private accounts remain inaccessible. Benefits: - Privacy-Friendly: Watch any Instagram content without being noticed. - Simple and Easy: No app installation or registration required. - Exclusive Tools: Download and manage content in ways Instagram doesn’t offer.
Keep track of Instagram updates discreetly while protecting your privacy and staying anonymous.
