Big news potentially coming in West London 💙

Off the back of HYPER: The Stevie Hyper D Story, there are now calls in collaboration with Hammersmith & Fulham Council to recognise Stevie with a blue plaque on the house he grew up in on Stephendale Road - marking where Stevie Hyper D lived.

From pirate radio to raves, to helping shape a whole sound and culture, Stevie’s impact is still felt worldwide. A plaque like this would be a powerful, permanent reminder of where it all started - and another meaningful addition to his legacy.

I directed the internet’s most viral Jungle documentary. My film Jungle Fever from 2014 has recently found a new lease of life online and is now going to be shown at @vam_east this Saturday 16th May.

The film will be shown as part of back2back: @upyarchives x @rendezvousprojects curated by @archives.nia who have put together a whole day of special programming celebrating Jungle throughout the years and across the globe.

All the events are free and require no ticket so you can drop in during the day.

My film will be played on loop throughout the day alongside a series of other jungle documentaries including A London Somet’ing Dis which was a huge inspiration on my during the making of Jungle Fever.

There will also be a screening of the incredible Hyper The Stevie Hyper D Story @mcsteviehyperd followed by Q&A with director @beatcultureldn.
