Our book for MUMA’s reader series launches this Saturday morning at MUMA in Melbourne. ‘Earth Ethics: Art, Institutions and Regenerative Practices’ grew out of conversations at MUMA around responsibility to place and from its roots there bundled up inspiring work from all over the world. I’ve been proud and honoured to co-edit this with the incomparable @charday68 @madeleine___collie and @nutmegandhoney and with support and trust from @mumamonash and @stephanieberlangieri

Melbourne cold versus D and Hilary warmly introducing their issue of un magazine today. From D’s editorial text: The initial thinking behind a collection of annotated bibliographies came about from the question: ‘What texts are colleagues interacting with during lockdowns and their time in isolation? … What texts are worth taking forward into a post-lockdown future?’

I recently joined the board of Naarm/Melbourne-based @un_projects who publish un Magazine, the biannual independent contemporary art magazine for writing that emerges from art-making. From fan to fam! It’s an honour to be a part of the journey of this now 18-year-old project. I’ve also contributed an annotated bibliography to issue 16.1 edited by the wonderful D Harding and Hilary Thurlow, which is being launched in Naarm next Sat.

Back from VERS this weekend on Kaurna Country, an event that emerged from sporadic meetings over two years about curatorial practices and non-centred ways of knowing the world, and which manifested over two days and a particularly electric four-hour durational conversation with a group of luminous souls who answered our questions on pleasures, embodiment, kinships, fugitivity and re/organising with grace, depth and generosity. I am grateful. A vers is only vers for others xx

A tapestry and poetry booklet that reflect on exhaustion, burn out, survival and transformation. “The work is a weaving through and from the bedspread of fatigue as a place with revolutionary potential and quietly takes back time that was stolen by capitalism.”
“The exhibition Ash lingers on processes of grief and healing that follow devastation. Here, feelings that are often compressed or put aside — despair, fatigue, alienation, melancholy, and mourning — are slowly unfurled and released. This exhibition rests inside heavy feelings, honouring them not only as embodied responses to the neglectful systems around us, but as vital resources in generating collective action, nourishment and hope.” (Curators Hareen Johl, Naomi Segal and Tian Zhang)
