Dès le premier jour de tournage, je voulais qu’on saisisse l’ampleur de @manuelmathieu et, à travers lui, ce que cela signifie d’être un artiste contemporain international basé à Montréal.
Pour mon équipe, ça a été une rencontre surréelle.
Pour moi, c’était le début d’un tournage où chaque plan devait rendre justice à la profondeur d’un artiste en pleine ascension.
Au cours de ma résidence Regard sur Montréal, j’ai eu le privilège de réaliser ce film très particulier, qui retrace la finalisation de la première œuvre d’art public de Manuel, rencontre qui, au final, est devenu le court documentaire d’ouverture des @ridm_festival , l’un des plus importants festivals internationaux du documentaire en Amérique du Nord.
