Back at tufting and loving it! Here is a sped up video showing you behind the scenes of my latest rug, a gift for a dear friend 💗

There are many steps involved, from sketching until I feel comfortable with the design, shape and colour scheme, then drawing on the design and starting to tuft. After all the tufting is finished I still have to trim the ends on the back, apply glue, let it dry, finish the edges, cut and apply backing material, trim the rug itself until everything looks good. Then it's ready 🤩

I wasn't sure how the colours would turn out but they are vibrant and make me happy! Best of all they make my friend happy which is what I was hoping.

It started with a conversation with Daniel, the band's manager in late 2023, and has become this hopeful, inspiring documentary series about a talented group of Acadian boys who love music. All four episodes will be available on Bell Fibe TV1 as of September 11th. (Anyone with Bell Internet should be able to watch, find a friend or family member if you don't have Bell! )

I'm very proud of this project and privileged to have worked with a stellar team, not to mention the families of Moyenne Rig who were a great help. Can't thank you all enough!

Here is some BTS from our shoots with Moyenne Rig this year for a docu series for Bell's cable channel that will air on September 11th! Very exciting!

On vient de finir un bloc de tournage avec les gars de @laradioradio pour Bell TV1. Avec une super belle équipe, on a réussi trois jours défiants avec la chaleur écrasante, le sable, l'eau salée, des animaux et un spectacle live le 15 août ! C'est vraiment comme si on travaille dans le cirque ;) 🎪

Just finished the first block of filming for a new show with the guys from @laradioradio for Bell Five TV1.
Great crew, crazy days including extreme heat, sand, salt water, barn animals and a live show - it's almost like we work in the circus! 🎪

We finished filming my docu-series for Bell about local bluegrass Acadian band Moyenne Rig. Big thanks to my team, I couldn't have done it without you, and of course to the boys of Moyenne Rig, you're all rock stars!

*Amens Growing* is a mural I recently completed at my church. It was a labour of love, a gift of my time to add some life with colour to a place I care about. Watch in 90 seconds what has taken me over a year and a half to conceive, plan and execute. I am learning the value of long term, slow-burn projects, something I wouldn't have had the patience to do when I was younger.

The seeds represent the people who have sown into our church and community over the years, giving of themselves to see growth around them. The flowers represent that growth, new life and beauty, while the yellow ribbon echoes the yellow slide in the playpark and represents the presence of the Holy Spirit in our lives.

The flowers are called cyclamens, which holds the word amen, something I didn't realize until my daughter pointed it out.

There are 57 (or 58?) lady bugs hidden throughout the seeds for kids (or whomever) to find along the hallway.

I love it, I'm proud of it, and I'm glad it's finished! 🤩

And especially to Brett at Benjamin Moore for the gift of the paint and rollers.

That's a wrap on O'Don's season 2! It was a privilege to be a part of the production crew for this show last week in Miramichi, NB. I learned a lot about producing scripted TV and made some new friends in the process. It's amazing what a committed group can do with a fixed budget and a very fixed timeframe. Check out the first season on @fibetv1 and watch for season 2 this summer!

This boy.
My sunshine boy. Born 9 years ago today.
They say the baby after a miscarriage is your rainbow baby, the gift after the storm. He was my ray of light in the dark. I would cry over him at night, tears of something, sadness? No, more like the intersection of love and loss, the reality that to have one love sometimes means the loss of another.
I still sometimes cry over him sleeping, just bubbling up, not sure why, but I make space for it. He is a gift.
My sunshine and rainbows boy.
My son.
"Maman, je suis ton soleil!"
