Loving someone while hating the version of myself I had become that heartbreak stayed with me. I wanted you to understand how much I wanted that love for both and how lonely I was. And also wanted to understand on your side.

Looking back, I understand the me and the you from back then. That process helped me find myself and maybe even see you in a new light. Maybe when I kept singing “Where are you at” I was really searching for me, and when I was singing “Love me” I was asking myself to love me first.
