Varenyky, вареники, a traditional Ukrainian dumpling.
Food is culture, community, and hope. For Ukrainian mothers who have fled the war to Sweden, the act of making varenyky is more than cooking. It is a way of holding on to memory while creating new meaning in a new country.
Can food become a bridge between what is lost and what is new?
My first venture into the world of documentary, to observe real stories unfold. I am humbled by the vulnerability and honesty in this project.
