Displacer Beast!! This concept is one of my favorites in our book, as I worked with Betsy, the Executive Creative Director, on the concept's creative development. When I joined the project, most of the creative direction was already set, but this concept was still evolving. The team was exploring how to depict the distorted nature of the Displacer Beast, which can displace light and itself, making it appear several feet from its true location.

During a detailed creative meeting, I shared a childhood experience at a carnival mirror maze and suggested we use a similar approach for this concept, Smoke and Mirrors.

It's incredibly rewarding to see a memory from my childhood directly inspire a final concept in the book.

I LOVE travel projects. For this one, I was hired to fly to Arizona and help with a 2026 branding refresh for a restaurant in Scottsdale. The marketing manager told me she loved the commercial campaign I did for Harrah's Ak-Chin in 2024 and wanted to bring some of those elements into their new look, particularly my light. What made this project even better was that the marketing manager is also a photographer. She had a clear vision from the start: bold, bright, simple, and fun imagery for all media. Over the past three months, we teamed up during pre-production to shape the creative direction for the 2026 launch. Enjoy!!

I enjoyed this project for many reasons. Each day brought new opportunities to flex my skills—directing, filming, and editing for project 1, then switching gears to photography and retouching for project 2. Few projects have allowed me to tap into so many of my talents at once. This one left my creative spirit feeling energized and wanting more!!!

While I admired his on-screen presence during the show, collaborating in person was even more impressive. He is one of the most hospitable clients I have worked with, even inviting me to stay at his BEAUTIFUL home for the second project.

Our first collaboration revealed a genuine creative harmony within the team, making it feel as if we had worked together for years. I miss you, chef!!
