The Artemis II astronauts splashed down safely today, and what better time to post some motion design work I did for The Space Architect, a documentary about the incredible life and vision of NASA architect Constance Adams. What an absolute honor it was to work with director Rebecca Carpenter to help tell Constance's story.
Constance Adams left a treasure trove of papers, notes, blueprints and scrapbooks that detailed her life, both professional and personal. From a design standpoint, it was a textural dream and spoke to the value of personal archive.
To quote astronaut Victor Glover, "You're on a spaceship called Earth." Constance referred to Earth as the Mothership. Her life's work culminated in The Mothership Project, a blueprint for how to survive and thrive on this little rock we live on.
Sharing a mini selection of animation work for the documentary "Reclaiming The Rain" for the Lincoln Institute of Land Policy, which charts the @cityofphiladelphia's attempt to capture billions of gallons of stormwater using green infrastructure.

Last year I had the pleasure of designing the motion graphics for the @pbs series @americanmuslimsfilm. The show focuses on early American Muslims, and how their stories have been a part of this nation's fabric since its founding.
The show was put together by an exceptional team of producers, researchers, journalists and creatives. I'm proud to have contributed to this series, which can be found on PBS' YouTube channel.

I teamed up with @cm___studios, @brocksteady, @_joshlundquist and my good friend @onkalofilms last fall to help edit and animate the “Innovators of Awesome” series for @kiwico_inc! Here are some highlights from this fun game show that challenged kids to use science to solve puzzles.
Last year I was asked by @antirecords to create 3 animated lyric videos for @sparklehorse.official. While the animation style was kept simple, this was a really special project because I got to bring Mark Linkous’ own drawings and handwritten lyrics to life. Such an honor and so very cool.
I’m trying to get better about posting work (man, is there a backlog) so I’m tossing up some more latergrams (do we still say that?) in the coming weeks!

One of my goals for 2024 is to pick up my camera more, and I’ve been thinking a lot about my very first camera that my dad gave me - his 1980s Nikon Nikkormat. Taking this camera out felt like being reunited with an old friend. The weight of it, the internal light meter, the satisfying click of the aperture wheel…nothing digital today compares to it.
My favorite class in middle school was an intro to photography taught by Ms Nakamura. Here are some contact sheets from school projects featuring my favorite model - my childhood cat Bara (which means “Big” in Urdu - because he was a big boy). Slide 2 is my attempt at faking ghost pictures by making my brother run up the steps in our backyard 24 times while I experimented with long exposure times.
