Excited to share: Digital Well-Being Week kicks off May 18–22. 📱✨

This is a brand-new initiative from Common Sense Education, designed to help students build healthier tech habits before summer, and it lands right in the middle of Mental Health Awareness Month, which feels exactly right.

Here’s what I keep coming back to:

Technology isn’t a “school thing” or a “home thing.” It’s woven into how kids learn, play, socialize, sleep, and see themselves. That’s true whether a school is fully 1:1, hybrid, or completely device-free. The conversations our kids need aren’t about *whether* tech is in their lives, it already is — they’re about how to live well alongside it.

That’s what makes this week powerful. Across five days, students will:
→ Interview each other about their real tech habits
→ Design a personal Tech Habit Challenge
→ Learn how addictive design actually works
→ Reflect on what changed — and what they want to carry forward

It’s flexible enough for any grade level and short enough to actually do.

For educators: this is a ready-made week of lessons.
For families: there are free tip sheets to keep the conversation going at home.
For everyone else: share it. A teacher, a parent, a school leader in your network will be grateful.

Let’s help the next generation build a relationship with technology that supports their well-being instead of competing with it. 💚. Just me chiming in from my couch as I continue to nurse a recent foot injury 🫠

It’s not often Valentine’s falls on the weekend so I figured a staycation away from home for my girls, plus an experience over crap was in order.Puppy Yoga, who knew?Well IG knew because it fed its way into my real and got me.It was so much fun though. We sweat 🥵, laughed, and took away fun memories. Love my fam.

It’s #SaferInternetDay and a reminder that we all play a role in ensuring our children and families aren’t just safer when they are online, but that we are empowered to demand the online experience they deserve. This Safer Internet Day, commit to one conversation. Talk to your students, your children, your colleagues about what it means to show up online with integrity. Ask them: How do your digital choices reflect who you want to be? And are these spaces supporting or hindering that experience? It’s been a bit since I posted on my page
