I had a lot of fun making it, directing, designing, animating, and writing this short, because it was mostly based off experiences I had with my friends growing up playing video games at sleepovers! Memories like these are very dear to me and I think that I made this as a tribute to my girlhood (despite being a closeted trans man at the time) and the wonderful friends who I grew up with, am now growing with, and who are in my life❤️

Shoutout to the talented @__jebbe who composed the really awesome video game looping music! They are so cool and I’m grateful they took the time to contribute!

"Kinda Smells Like Gasoline" by Ignacio Sandoval-Reilly and Edie Harper

This film was made in August in under one week following @_within.the.frame_ 's prompt "Kinda Smells Like ___."

We had chosen the word gasoline and went from there!

It premiered on their anthology (which you should totally watch on Youtube right now)

Edie was in charge of the two truckers, the smelling shot, compositing, and cowrote/storyboarded.

Nacho was in charge of making the backgrounds, animating the motorcyclist, sound, and cowrote/storyboarded.

The voice of the truckers is @harpersculpture
