Holy. Legendary and unabashed noisemakers @theofficialnapalmdeath ripped up the stage at @2037gottingen last night.
Could barely move around it was so packed and so I didn’t get many pics of the whole band, just their energetic and charismatic vocalist.

A few shots from Sunday night’s tribute to Brett, a local legend and friend to many.
I wasn’t able to make it for the whole event, but the bar was packed with a lot of sweaty metalheads and a lotta love.
Everyone was a metalhead that night.

Metal crowds might have a real tough reputation, but honestly, it’s the farthest thing from the truth. Because watching this one Saturday night, you wouldn’t say it.
I missed the opener, since I was over at the Lighthouse shooting Sam Roberts Band, then made the quick run to the @2037gottingen just in time to catch @teethnoise . Coming out of Hamilton (and yes, not that other Teeth - or the other other one), they hit the stage hard. Loud, aggressive, and fully committed - the kind of band that doesn’t ease into a set, they just go.
After Teeth wrapped up, what should’ve been a quick changeover turned into a pretty long technical delay - easily over half an hour. In a packed room full of sweaty, black T-shirt-wearing, long-haired metal fans, you might expect some frustration. Instead, everyone just… waited. Grabbed a drink, hung out, and stayed chill. No drama. Just a room full of people ready to get back to the chaos once things were sorted. And the second it was? Right back to headbanging, stage diving, and crowd surfing like nothing had happened. It’s always wild how different crowds can be depending on the show.
The next band up had the tough job of following that delay, but you wouldn’t have known it. @anciients came out swinging, shook off any lull in the room, and got things right back up to where they needed to be. After that wait, the crowd was ready, and the band delivered.
And then @cancerbats . At this point, it’s pretty safe to say they’ve got a standing invitation to Halifax - actually, all of Nova Scotia. Every time they come through, it’s the same story: pure energy, no let-up, and a crowd that’s all-in from the first note. It was great catching them upstairs this time (last time for me was the Seahorse), and it doesn’t seem to matter what room they’re in - they just take it over. Loud, chaotic, and exactly what you want from a show like this.
Huge thanks to all the bands. (sorry again for missing Chastity) and @morbidentertainment & @redtentacle - Always a kick ass show!

By far the most intense set of the night, TEETH took The Marquee Ballroom by storm after Chastity’s performance, on April 4, 2026.
Frontman Blake Louis Prince stepped to the edge of the stage, immediately assaulting the crowd with his guttural roar and unrelenting energy. Not for the faint of heart, the pit erupted as the band’s chaotic metallic hardcore and sludge-drenched breakdowns hit the room with punishing force. From the front row, I quickly moved to the sidelines, capturing the mayhem and intensity as the crowd dove, twisted, and surged to every beat. Every moment was devoured, every scream matched by the band — one word sums up the night: FIERCE.
Formed in 2019 in Ontario, TEETH blends metallic hardcore, sludge, and brutal breakdowns into an abrasive, uncompromising sound. With members who’ve toured with Dead & Divine, Every Time I Die, and Norma Jean, the band has quickly earned a reputation for violent, high-energy performances. Their recent EP, I Am the Way to Oblivion (2025), showcases the jagged riffs, brutal rhythms, and relentless intensity that made this set unforgettable.
📍 Venue: The Marquee Ballroom, Halifax, NS
🎸 Tour: Cancer Bats Birthing the Giant 20th Anniversary
🎶 Bands of the Night: Chastity, TEETH, Anciients and headliners Cancer Bats
