"Absolute legend William Basinski performing live is as good as it gets. Basinski, who by his own admission ‘wanted to be David Bowie’, found himself reviewing old tape loops on September 11th. The sounds they made as they disintegrated bit by bit, play after play, became his most iconic work, and one of the most important suites of music to this writer. But this isn’t all he’s done either before or since: his catalogue of often but not exclusively long, elegiac works continues to inspire."
