Few bands in British music occupy a space as singular, or as quietly influential, as @thedurutticolumnofficial.

For nearly five decades, Vini Reilly’s project has existed slightly out of time: pastoral when the world was abrasive, intimate when the world was loud, and defiantly emotional in an era that often prized detachment. Now, after more than 15 years away from the studio, The Durutti Column return with Renascent, a new album that feels less like a comeback and more like a gentle, glowing re‑emergence.

Released 31st July, Renascent arrives as a rare moment of alignment, a renewed spotlight on a band whose influence has quietly threaded its way through generations. In the past few years alone, their fingerprints have appeared everywhere from Frank Ocean and @theavalanches to @devhynes (Blood Orange), who sampled “Sing to Me” for last year’s single The Field. Even Harry Styles @hshq has publicly championed the band, citing them as a key influence on his 2026 album Kiss All the Time. Disco Occasionally.

That admiration has now manifested in a major moment: a special Meltdown Festival concert, For Vini: A Tribute to The Durutti Column, curated by Styles and taking place on 17th June. It’s a celebration of a catalogue that has shaped countless artists, often without fanfare.

@trashboatuk are heading back to London this October, not just for another tour date, but for a moment that feels like a line drawn through their entire story.

The St Albans band have announced their first ever headline show at @kokocamden, celebrating 10 years of their debut album 'Nothing I Write You Can Change What You’ve Been Through', the record that first carved their name into the UK alternative scene.

When Nothing I Write You… landed in 2016, British alternative music was shifting into something rawer, more emotionally open. Trash Boat were part of that wave, but they weren’t riding trends, they were writing from the gut.

The album’s mix of vulnerability and urgency became a lifeline for fans who heard their own chaos reflected back at them. A decade later, those themes still sit at the centre of who Trash Boat are, even as their sound has grown darker, heavier and more ambitious.

Since that debut, Trash Boat have refused to stay still. Crown Shyness sharpened their songwriting. Don’t You Feel Amazing? pushed them into bigger, bolder territory. 2024’s Heaven Can Wait and this year’s EP Even If I Never Get There show a band unafraid to experiment, to stretch, to confront the world with something more expansive than their early years ever hinted at.

A year spent tearing through stadiums with Metallica, conquering festival main stages across Europe, and hauling their carnival of chaos all the way to Australia, @avatarmetal are closing out 2026 on their own terms, in the dark, in the cold, and very much in their element.

The Swedish metal shapeshifters have announced a full UK and European headline run for late autumn, bringing their new album Don’t Go In The Forest to venues that are about to feel a lot smaller, a lot sweatier, and a lot stranger.

It’s classic AVATAR, theatrical, tongue‑in‑cheek, and delivered with the confidence of a band who’ve spent the summer playing to tens of thousands. But this tour is something different. This is the band pulling fans back into their world, up close, face‑to‑face, no pyro to hide behind, no stadium distance. Just the riffs, the roar, and the ritual.

The run begins 20 November in Wolverhampton before winding through the UK and deep into Europe, finishing 19 December in Wrocław, Poland. Danish death‑metal force Neckbreakker join as support across all dates, a pairing that promises zero downtime between blows.

@presidentband have spent the last year moving like a shadow through the UK heavy scene, anonymous, meticulous, and strangely magnetic.

No faces, no mythology, no genre‑box to tick. Just a growing trail of singles that feel more like transmissions than releases, each one hinting at a bigger world being built behind the curtain.

Today, that world finally has a name.

The UK collective have announced their debut album Blood Of Your Empire, arriving 4th September 2026 via Atlantic Records, and it looks set to be one of the most ambitious heavy‑electronic crossover records of the year.
