6 years ago the girl on the left was hiding behind railings to take pictures feeling ashamed and embarrassed of her body. Fast forward six years to the girl on the right who is confident in who she is, no embarrassment about her body or hiding behind railings lol
This transformation is not just about body image but also about my mental and spiritual image. Over the last six years I put in crazy amounts of work to lose 30lbs, move to three different states, embark on a 1 and a 1/2 year sobriety journey and start two successful businesses. I share my accomplishments not because they were easy but because it was a lot of hard work and sacrifice. The hard work and sacrifice have been invaluable for my health, community and well being.
I had been struggling with alcohol, overworking, anxiety, painful thought patterns and a lot of past trauma. I would turn mainly to alcohol instead of dealing w/ addictions to pain. For years I had been wanting to make a change and fully commit to my physical health. In 2019 I had read an article on how studies were showing that magic mushrooms were helping with alcohol addiction, anxiety, depression and PTSD. I decided to go on the journey of micrdosing and once I had started it was almost like the mushroom itself communicated with me I had to completely quit drinking. So I did.
Slowly but surely I started to make more conscious decisions about the food I ate and my fitness regimen. I began to eat local and organic foods, microdosed 2-3x a week and was working out 3-5x a week. By 2020 I had lost 20lbs, but I still didn't feel confident about myself and suffered from major body image issues. I started to realize I needed to also work on my mental and spiritual health. I was addicted to negative self thought patterns. So I started to do affirmations, journaling and meditation where I could rewrite my self narrative. This really accelerated my healing process.
In 2021 I wanted to start supplementing with functional mushrooms I had heard they were beneficial for anxiety, depression and sports performance. It was difficult to find an organic fruiting body source so I decided to create my own. The functional mushroom product ππ¨οΈβ¬οΈπ
