this week, i became a mother of 5. what a ride me and this little girl have been on. she has been the sweetest blessing after many many storms. our little rainbow baby come again. i find myself in a mix of grief & gratitude. tears & bliss. born at home with the most incredible support team. raach, as always, holding it all down. so much love for our new family of 7.

yesterday afternoon, i watched my father, rene michel jules goueth take his last breath after a 20 year battle for his health & dignity.
over the last two decades ive been his caretaker, guide, daughter and friend along with my sister @lanie_g . i’ve become an expert on dementia and diabetes & spent many many nites wondering if he would leave the ER or the ICU. since he is one of the strongest to ever do it, he always did. yesterday though, we finally watched him rest in peace.
being the eldest of his siblings, he blazed a path from cameroon to paris where he met my mother and married in the late 70s. my grandfather was his sponsor & i became the first of our lineage born in america. he spent his lifetime working to support his family both here and abroad and it’s been my lifetime honor to take care of him until his final days.
i’m so grateful for the gold he left for me in the form of my 3 sisters and his 9 grandchildren. i can feel the hurt & pain & loss all the way down to my bones but im so grateful to have known him so closely and to hold nothing but pure blazing love & gratitude in my heart as he sails on to smoother seas.
may our bloodline continue his greatest works of generosity & relentless joy.
high honors to my sisters @lanie_g , @moving_with_toni & @wendy_g8 for this journey together, my husband @taraach_ for holding my hand the full 20, and my beloved uncle jaques.

2025. what a year. i’ve had soooo many losses and so much grief. home & family & work. all in one year turned upside down. been stripped down to the very bare bones of who i am and what im here to do and be. ive also had gains like no other. an incredible year in marriage & friendships. started multiple new businesses with incredible partners. worked on life changing film projects. returned back to the theater. started writing again. a new home and new life 🌈 mostly though, i’ve been a good mom this year. our family losses were harder on the little ones then me. & i’ve showed up every day for our crew in ways that will shape their lives forever. i’m so grateful for all the constant love & support I get from all yall here & offline. this year, was a walk thru fire & showed me what it really means to be LOVED and supported.

XX years of growth. many children. many lessons. laughter, frustration, celebration & tears. a glorious lifetime after many lifetimes of love and marriage. we put in the work indeed and we are enjoying the fruits of our labor. this year has been quite the year but look at how we are living with grace. praises be. love this photo of us, right before P came to be and we had the whole world in front of us. i’m looking forward to 20 more with the best man i know. love u @instaturl

happy mother’s day iya. i have a mother of deep faith who has been committed to being in right relationship with me every day of her life. she has been human & forgiving of me being human. we are deeply committed to loving and supporting one another in every lifetime. I have the BEST mother for me to learn the lessons my soul needs to learn and am committed to being that for my children as well. wrote a bit more about it today in my newsletter. link in bio.

it’s been 105 days since i’ve slept in my bed, prayed salat on my bedroom rug, stewed vegetables and lentils in my yellow le creuset, or walked out and laid with my back pressed deep into the soil of my beautiful back yard. i miss home. yet, this season is teaching me that earth is home. everywhere and no where. this photo is from todays quick trip to descanso to relish in earth day. I visit the ancient forest, rose gardens, and japanese gardens weekly. it’s become one of my homes away from home. i settle in some new corner each time and let all the trees regulate my breath and steady my mind for 45 glorious minutes. I have no idea where home will be 100 days from now but i’m going to write my way there. my first substack post is up. would love if you would read and subscribe. link in bio.

winter was about playing with the changes & learning how to discern with clarity. even though things still feel a bit foggy—i’m coming in from cold.

he wanted to go see a fight for his 5th birthday. he’s so unlike any of our other children. uniquely him. I was raised by an aquarius who was born of two aquarians and gave birth to this aquarius with my favorite aquarius. the future is bright with this one on the planet. fifth season, best one yet.

Thank you to those reaching out to support our family. I will continue to share those in need that we know in my stories in the coming days.

what a time. when darkness twists and mutates daily and it seems so many have to squint and wrestle just to get a glimpse of beauty.
beauty is always available, waiting for us to behold. i’ve been noticing the electric energy of the color the blue. the model mark on my daughters left cheek. the pause debbie takes to think. my husband’s everything.
i find it essential to surround myself with those who see the beauty. who are devoted to it, both as creator and as witness.
thank u calethia for finding the light, the harvest and the arresting beauty right in my own backyard.
