This month marked an exciting new chapter for Obsidianworks!

1 beautiful Saturday featuring 2 box trucks, 15 pallets of food + supplies, 150 volunteeers, 800 bags filled with groceries + a lotta love, all to compliment the 5,000 turkeys that the @thinkwattsfoundation and @neighborhoodnipfnd provided to local families during their inaugural Turkey Giveaway on Slauson Ave. just in time for Thanksgiving.

In a time of political, social, and economic uncertainty, nothing beats the power of partnership and community to remind us why we’re all here: that each and every moment is an opportunity to be of service, however that looks/feels at any given time.

THIS SATURDAY, join us for A Very Special Thanksgiving edition of #HashtagLunchbagLA.

We’ll be packing groceries @findyourhilltop Slauson in support of our friends’ Thinkwatts Foundation and Neighborhood Nip Foundation’s upcoming Turkey Giveaway where they’ll be providing holiday entrees for 5,000 local families. Supplies were secured by @startherela + @datmoimarket, a local family-owned grocer serving the Gardena community for the past 40+ years. Sounds provided by @_djbiggs.

It’s all love for Harlem.

We partnered with our good friends at @target to help spread the word for their newest store opening on 125th and Malcolm X Blvd.

Harlem is all about its people, so we made sure this work kept the community front and center. We created a social video featuring local muralist and Target partner artist, Islenia, where she walks through Marcus Garvey Park, a notable spot that captures the essence of what makes Harlem, Harlem.

Always in good spirits. 🍹

We reintroduced Tequila Herradura as the spirit of the summer. We tapped into culture creators and taste makers to craft cocktails, blending Herradura into their lifestyles and celebrating their authentic selves.
