You know how you always see “cookie dough professional” in all my bylines and bios? That’s because 12 years ago today I started a cookie dough business. I don’t talk about it much, and tho COVID was the worst thing for my poor cookies (and the best thing for my writing tbh), miraculously the business still exists.
To celebrate, I’m giving away *cookies all year long.*
what’s the catch? All you have to do is hit the blue little subscribe button on my profile and each month you can get one cookie at @4505bbq on divis—they were my very first account. And of course, you’ll get all kinds of exclusive restaurant recs —Omar’s Order style. If you’re outside of San Francisco, subscribe anyway and come visit The City—you’re long overdue . Let’s see how the algo gods will like this idea. 🙏🏽🍪✨ @dough_xx

last infeed of the year: swan oyster depot in San Francisco, my favorite place in the entire world. You already know everything about this hundred+ year holy temple of seafood, this San Francisco institution and bastion of deliciousness. But leave it up to me to share some new secrets not on the menu (or even the secret menu). ai can’t do this shit. Enjoy HH & HNY. 🖤✨🦢 @swan.oyster.official
1- crabsanthemum was on the secret menu I wrote in 2016, but did you know you can get it with a lobster center? I call this the wideman, named after Erik wideman behind the counter who conceived of sucha beauteous beauty.
2-4- stuff, James beard, etc.
5- redeye was in the secret menu (beer with cocktail sauce, lemon juice, Tabasco, Worcestershire, pepper and oyster juice) — but get it spicy and they’ll add horseradish (you want it spicy).
6- no notes.
7- ok this lets call this spicydiy clam prep Omar style—lemon juice, add the spicy jarred hot sauce, dash of tabasc, and finish w horseradish. I’m sure it’s been done before but it’s better when i tell you to do it
8- often imitated, honored and homaged, but never duplicated. Ever.
9- I’ve posted this before: bread, butter, crab fat, crab claw. Only new note is: get a side of warm meltedbutter to bathe your crustacean before
10,11- crab back makes everything better, including the chowduh.
12- my first piece for the chron, my first cover for the chron, and a sick ass t that I only wear to swan. Proud of this piece.
13- attitude: the secret to a happy life? add gratitude.

13- attitude: the secret to a happy life? add gratitude.

last infeed of the year: swan oyster depot in San Francisco, my favorite place in the entire world.
6- no notes.

friends, fans, and followers: today im launching a new ig subscription series I’m dubbing Omar’s Order. People always ask me: ‘where should I eat and what should I get?’ this is an easy, digestible format that answers those questions by showcasingall the deliciousness I’ve been inhaling in SF and beyond.
But OO is more than what Im eating: it’s the music I’m listening to. It’s the vintage im wearing. It’s whatever I feel like cooking. but mostly, OO is meant to provide eating inspiration.
full transparency: starting this now bc I need to. freelance life is a rollercoaster and I’m heading into a slow summer—man’s gotta eat. my hope is that this will make the ride a little smoother. The first few are going to be on the house, but I’ll soon make OO posts subscriber only. so if you like what you see and got five on it monthly, if I’ve ever made your life slightly more joyful and delicious, smash that blue subscribe button next to the dm button. thank you for your support. Thank you for following 🖤✨ #OO

ate at somni in Los Angeles last month, and I need to say that when it comes to the world of fine dining, this is the best restaurant in America right now. chef aitor zabala and co’s modernist tasting menu isn’t just dinner, this is art. It’s a show. It’s a dance that leaves you in a trance. chef is from Barcelona and is cut from the el bulli cloth—I don’t think there’s another restaurant doing exactly what they’re doing, maybe even in the whole world... 14 seats. 3.5hours. 1 seating. Food is fleeting—but this is in my top three meals in my life. This restaurant gets a cool 20 slide carousel and a mamoon moon from me, the highest culinary accolade possible on instagram. Love this restaurant so much. what a dream. 🌖✨ @somnirestaurant #nofilter
1-2 shiso tempura tartare of sorts
3-4 opening bites in the courtyard—can’t imagine the labor that goes into smtg gone so soon.
5- pizza margherita? Pan con tomate? the first proper plate is playful yet serious
6- gazpacho
7- the dance. the trance.
8- the textures of crab and pomelo are perfect
9- oo lala
10- pfg potato croissant
11- the focus bts. the intensity. there’s a 1:1 ratio of staff:guest during service
12- can you count the number of mussels in this dish? it’s a lot.
13- turbot
14- burgundy
15- insane pork course
16- cheese course
17-pretty dessert
18- sweet little things
19- te va a pillar el toro
20- somni means dream in Catalan.

ate at somni in Los Angeles last month, and I need to say that when it comes to the world of fine dining, this is the best restaurant in America right now. chef aitor zabala and co’s modernist tasting menu isn’t just dinner, this is art.

Come to the restaurant redux of the big four at the Huntington hotel in San Francisco for two things: the impeccable, immaculateold school vibes and this chicken pot pie, of course. A puffy butterygolden brown pie crustgets carefullyremoved table side revealing the piping hot contents beneath: a creamy veloutestudded with carrots and peas, pearl onions and potatoes, and plenty of poultry of course. It’s a rich and comforting dish that’ssure to warm your body and soul on the coldest, foggiest San Francisco night. It’s PFG. 🖤✨ @thebigfoursf
On this episode of WINES THAT WOW we head to one my favorite wine bars in sf, golden sardine in north beach, where Andrew Paul Nelson shares his love for some natty german dry white wine—a cuvee (blend) of Riesling/sylvaner/more 🍷✨ @goldensardinesf #wtw
the best sandwiches in America right now are coming from one type of place: the pizzeria. Learn why and which ones are doing the most with dough in my latest article now online 🍕✨ @foodandwine

Laura and Sayat, the talented duo behind the eastern Mediterranean restaurantDalida (which I put in esquires best new restaurant list a few years ago) opened another project in presidio heights in San Francisco—a contemporary Mexican spot called Maria Isabel. It’s named after Laura’s sister (a chef in cdmx) and her mother—naturally im excited about it. Wrote about it for gazetteer, the insane uni tamal specifically. But see some other essential Omar’s Orders below. Can’t wait to come back for the tasting menu 🇲🇽✨ @mariaisabelsf_
1- the uni is topped with a Mexican vanilla oil and the tamal itself is made with fresh corn blitzed w butter. It’s really delicious.
2- little crab torta shades. Protein will likely change as the season winds down
3- artichoke tetela
4- dueling chorizo fundido reminds me of Contramar
5- duck carnitas enmoladas. This was a platelicker

The Instagram Story Viewer is an easy tool that lets you secretly watch and save Instagram stories, videos, photos, or IGTV. With this service, you can download content and enjoy it offline whenever you like. If you find something interesting on Instagram that you’d like to check out later or want to view stories while staying anonymous, our Viewer is perfect for you. Anonstories offers an excellent solution for keeping your identity hidden. Instagram first launched the Stories feature in August 2023, which was quickly adopted by other platforms due to its engaging, time-sensitive format. Stories let users share quick updates, whether photos, videos, or selfies, enhanced with text, emojis, or filters, and are visible for only 24 hours. This limited time frame creates high engagement compared to regular posts. In today’s world, Stories are one of the most popular ways to connect and communicate on social media. However, when you view a Story, the creator can see your name in their viewer list, which may be a privacy concern. What if you wish to browse Stories without being noticed? Here’s where Anonstories becomes useful. It allows you to watch public Instagram content without revealing your identity. Simply enter the username of the profile you’re curious about, and the tool will display their latest Stories. Features of Anonstories Viewer: - Anonymous Browsing: Watch Stories without showing up on the viewer list. - No Account Needed: View public content without signing up for an Instagram account. - Content Download: Save any Stories content directly to your device for offline use. - View Highlights: Access Instagram Highlights, even beyond the 24-hour window. - Repost Monitoring: Track the reposts or engagement levels on Stories for personal profiles. Limitations: - This tool works only with public accounts; private accounts remain inaccessible. Benefits: - Privacy-Friendly: Watch any Instagram content without being noticed. - Simple and Easy: No app installation or registration required. - Exclusive Tools: Download and manage content in ways Instagram doesn’t offer.
