Workshop led by @matthieuhuegi (Onlab)
The students explored layout as a continuous process, shaped daily by a flow of real-time information. Working in three groups, content collection and writing, iconographic production, and layout and typographic structuring, participants produced a daily plotter-printed strip, later assembled into a collective editorial archive. A digital extension of the project, presented as an infinite-scroll website, further translates this uninterrupted flow into an online reading experience.
Claire Dubuy, Arturo Franken, Lisa Grobet, Ekaterina Kalinina, Leoni Limbach, Auriane Locatelli, Evelyn Marbach, Anqi Ni, Maria Pelekanou, Clara Rouge, Delphine Rozmuski, Nola Tomaska, Yifei Wu, Woobin Yang

TALKS Visual Knowledge × Matthieu Huegi (Onlab)
We are excited to continue our conference series with our second guest in the Master’s program, Matthieu Huegi from Onlab, who will also be leading a workshop next week.
Onlab is a graphic design studio active in the cultural field, working mainly in visual communication, editorial design, and scenography. With a strong focus on content-driven design, Onlab develops projects that range from print to digital and from paper to spatial environments. The studio’s approach is defined by a deep involvement in each project, aiming to bring content and form together in a coherent and holistic way.
Founded in 2016 by Vanja Golubovic and Thibaud Tissot, Onlab welcomed Matthieu Huegi a few months later. A graduate of ECAL with a Bachelor’s degree in Visual Communication, he specializes in editorial and typographic design. The team now has four members, with the arrival of Luca Riva in 2025.

We are very pleased to share that Laurence Rasti is among the winners at this year’s Swiss Design Awards!
Her project “Wall as Horizon” addresses the issue of the over-representation of vulnerable people in the Swiss prison system. Through in-depth conversations with incarcerated people and contributions from academics, it highlights how poverty and migration are systematically criminalized, and how prison functions as a tool of exclusion.

Publication Kiki Kogelnik – Les cyborgs ne sont pas respectueuses
Published as part of the collection “Livres de -Fonds” by Musée des beaux-arts La Chaux-de-Fonds on the occasion of Kiki Kogelnik (1935–1997) exhibition, the book presents her unrecognised practice. Considered as a pop art pioneer, her feminist perspective kept her on the margins of the male-dominated movement. In line with the museum’s visual identity the book series is dedicated to emerging artists’ first publications and present their work in a small softcover format. This book celebrates the recent rediscovery of Kiki Kogelnik’s work, which offers a playful yet weighty commentary on the ambivalence of progress.

@tresorberlin Visual Identity 2015-2019
Originally designed by co-partner Vanja Golubovic in 2015, Tresor’s visual identity challenged the perspective of the mythical Berlin club and the visual stereotypes of techno. We have developed it together since 2016 and have been in charge of all the club’s on- and offline communications, including hundreds of flyers and posters designed on a grid system inspired by the legendary cage used as a DJ booth. This versatile framework has enabled the incorporation of various visual elements such as photography, patterns and typography, allowing the communication to evolve and adapt over the years while maintaining consistency.

Serge Fruehauf – Batirama
This book was published as part of the “Enquête photographique neuchâteloise”, project launched in 2013 with biennial commissions awarded to build a photographic “heritage of tomorrow” for the canton. Photographer Serge Fruehauf presents a current and subjective panorama of the canton’s architectural culture. Fruehauf’s images focus on significant details that are often perceived as banal, yet reveal the latent potential of architecture. The book lays out all photographs taken by Fruehauf in a chronologically and generated sequence where only format changes are used to draw attention to specific images.

The Instagram Story Viewer is an easy tool that lets you secretly watch and save Instagram stories, videos, photos, or IGTV. With this service, you can download content and enjoy it offline whenever you like. If you find something interesting on Instagram that you’d like to check out later or want to view stories while staying anonymous, our Viewer is perfect for you. Anonstories offers an excellent solution for keeping your identity hidden. Instagram first launched the Stories feature in August 2023, which was quickly adopted by other platforms due to its engaging, time-sensitive format. Stories let users share quick updates, whether photos, videos, or selfies, enhanced with text, emojis, or filters, and are visible for only 24 hours. This limited time frame creates high engagement compared to regular posts. In today’s world, Stories are one of the most popular ways to connect and communicate on social media. However, when you view a Story, the creator can see your name in their viewer list, which may be a privacy concern. What if you wish to browse Stories without being noticed? Here’s where Anonstories becomes useful. It allows you to watch public Instagram content without revealing your identity. Simply enter the username of the profile you’re curious about, and the tool will display their latest Stories. Features of Anonstories Viewer: - Anonymous Browsing: Watch Stories without showing up on the viewer list. - No Account Needed: View public content without signing up for an Instagram account. - Content Download: Save any Stories content directly to your device for offline use. - View Highlights: Access Instagram Highlights, even beyond the 24-hour window. - Repost Monitoring: Track the reposts or engagement levels on Stories for personal profiles. Limitations: - This tool works only with public accounts; private accounts remain inaccessible. Benefits: - Privacy-Friendly: Watch any Instagram content without being noticed. - Simple and Easy: No app installation or registration required. - Exclusive Tools: Download and manage content in ways Instagram doesn’t offer.
