this is a walking club & growing community for mothers, blending movement, mindful connections and a love for sipping as we stroll.

Becoming a mum has been such an interesting ride (lol). Especially during that first year, I kept asking myself: How can I still feel connected? How can I create something that reflects this new stage of life—especially as a creative individual?

That’s how Fal’s Own Club began. Last year, I started documenting my 10k daily walks with my baby during early postpartum (on my Tiktok, yall follow meeee (@onlydestt) ) Those walks became a time to breathe, think, connect, and just be. Now, 16 months into motherhood, I’m so excited to officially launch Fal’s Own Club: a weekly walking club and growing community for mums of children from babies to older (and soon-to-be mums too 🥹).

We’ll meet every Wednesday in Greenwich Park (so if you’re based in South East London or even would love to travel down, this is for you! We will expand to different parks & days but this is where we are starting at). We’ll grab a drink, walk, talk, sip, laugh, and connect… building real friendships and our village along the way.

This means so much to me.
Motherhood made me slow down and be present with my daughter, which wasn’t easy—but it’s been worth it. It’s shaped how I want motherhood to feel: connected, soft, empowered, and joyful, whilst still tapping into my creative endeavours.

Our first walk is Wednesday, 4th June at 11AM till 12.45PM

I took these photos of my dad in July 2020, around the same time he sadly went to sleep four years later. Something I never knew was going to happen, but I am forever grateful I was able to do an entire photoshoot with him (which he very much enjoyed) & create a collection of photographs I will forever cherish.

Here is my eulogy for my dad Joseph.

A true artist, filmmaker, musician, builder, handy guy, gardener, father, grandfather, brother, son and friend.
He meant a lot to everyone.

I remember the times he would take me to the one o’clock club every Saturday in brockwell park (where he worked). I was always excited to play, to help out, to explore and be curious.

I remember the time when we drove around different parts of London, dropping off film equipment in a large luton van. I felt on top of the world just being a passenger and seeing the ins and outs of what he does. It inspired me, and possibly led me to pursue a career in film.
I remember when he assisted me in building my first set, we stayed up the entire night building - this is a memory that I documented and will always hold in my heart.
Dad taught me a lot, he listened a lot too.
I spent a lot of time with him at Camberwell film studios. He supported and took part in each project of mine and never complained once. Especially on the days and nights that were extremely long.
Dad was there, in his own ways.
He was present.
He was my dad.
Who I will always keep alive, through the memories, photos, and the stories I tell my daughter Fallon.
I love you dad.
I will miss your spirit, your laughter, your energy, your love, your presence.
I know you are somewhere smiling proud of us, playing music, acting out scenes and tending to your everlasting garden.
I cannot wait to see you again, and tell you all about the life I have lived since you fell asleep when I was 24 years old.
