“When the walls stop breathing, you have to find another home.”

I wrote these lyrics about surviving years of mental and physical abuse. For a long time, I had to suffocate my own mind just to exist in a space where I wasn’t safe.
Usually I don’t open up like this, it’s easier to hide behind a tough exterior, but Manni is such a warm and kind soul that he created a space where I felt safe enough to be this vulnerable. I’m grateful we could co-produce this world and record these vocals together.

I’m sharing this now because I want ‘Body & Soul’ to be for anyone who currently feels stuck, silenced, or suffocated. I want this music to give you the power to realize that you can leave. You can find another home. You can take back everything they tried to strip away from you.
Reclaiming your life is the hardest work you’ll ever do, but the doors of perception are waiting to be opened.
