As the grand finale of the FEEL JAZZ FEST, a breathtaking dream lineup takes the stage: a heavyweight trio formed by Golden Melody Award-winning pianist Patrick Lui, jazz guitar icon Wilson Lam, and seasoned American double bassist Jeff Lehmberg.

Brilliant giants who have long enriched the Hong Kong jazz scene, these three masters will collide on stage. Interweaving the delicate, cinematic essence of the keys, the modern harmonic colors of the guitar, and the profound, grounding grooves of the double bass, they will craft an uncompromising, pinnacle showcase of live improvisation.

Really grateful to be able to join Eugene's band and play with all these killer musicians.

I first heard Tamaya Honda from the 'Eugene Pao Project' DVD and I couldn't believe I actually got to play with him. Together with new friend Marty Holoubek they are a rhythm section that could take you to unimaginable places (and bring you back!). Together with the ever so formidable Blaine Whittaker, and the legend Eugene Pao himself, this has got to be one of my most unforgettable experiences on stage.

屢獲獎嘅鋼琴家 Patrick Lui 將會聯同鼓手 Steve Cheung（波子）、低音吉他手 Sylvain Gagnon 組成三重奏，主打 Modern Jazz，專攻爵士大師 Chick Corea 啲作品！
平時 Patrick 多數玩傳統jazz standard，Bebop 底子好厚。今次佢同兩個風格唔同嘅rhythm section拍檔合作，大玩 Chick Corea 作品，應該會令好多聽開Patrick既樂迷耳目一新！

講到 Chick Corea（1941–2021），呢個真係「Chick咤樂壇」嘅傳奇！美國鋼琴家加作曲家，攞過23個Grammy，玩過傳統爵士、fusion、古典，名曲有〈Spain〉、〈La Fiesta〉、〈Windows〉等，由Return to Forever到Elektric Band，影響幾代音樂人！

鼓手 波子（Steve Cheung） 十分擅長fusion，風格受Dave Weckl影響。多年來係流行樂壇曾為張敬軒、Big Four做演唱會鼓手，仲喺ViuTV《擊戰》做導師，技術同舞台經驗一流。

低音手 Sylvain Gagnon 係香港爵士熟面孔，加拿大樂手長期駐港，好活躍本地同國際樂壇，係超搶手嘅rhythm section。今次三重奏會炒Chick Corea作品，加埋現代版標準曲，新鮮感十足。

今次仲有兩個special guest——小號手 Angus Woo 同長號手 Gregory Wong！兩個後生brass手，音樂底扎實，大學讀音樂，喺本地爵士圈越嚟越active。開場仲有長號四重奏 Trombone Nomad 為大家熱身，大家準備好未啊～🎶✨

感謝西九邀請，參與國泰航空「香港精神號——80周年紀念版」的計劃，以管弦爵士大樂團風格重新改編及錄製《國泰躍韻》，年中將會在國泰指定航班聽到。

爵士版《國泰躍韻》於全新藝術塗裝的波音777-300ER客機首播，而首航會上我亦聯同多位精英爵士樂手演奏了現場版本。除此之外，我們還為首航的乘客送上《歲月如歌》、Come Fly With Me、Samba do Aviao等以飛行為主題的爵士樂曲。

再次祝賀國泰航空飛躍80週年，西九X國泰「香港精神號」繼續躍進！

Big thanks to WestK for the invitation to participate in Cathay Pacific’s “The Spirit of Hong Kong - 80th Anniversary Edition” project, rearranging and recording “Song of Cathay” in an orchestral jazz big band style. It will be heard on designated Cathay Pacific flights starting mid-year.

The jazz version of “Song of Cathay” premiered on the Boeing 777-300ER aircraft featuring the new artistic livery, and I also performed a live version with some of the best jazz musicians at the inaugural event. In addition, we presented flight-themed songs such as “歲月如歌”, “Come Fly With Me”, and ”Samba do Aviao“ for the inaugural passengers.

Congratulations again to Cathay Pacific on its 80th anniversary. May the WestK x Cathay ”Spirit of Hong Kong“ continue to leap forward!

【Jazz Signature: Patrick Lui Trio】

屢獲殊榮的鋼琴家Patrick Lui將聯同鼓手Steve Cheung（波子）及低音結他手Nelson Fung組成三重奏，帶來一場以Modern Jazz為主軸的演出。

Patrick曾獲Marvin Hamlisch國際音樂獎（爵士作曲），與樂隊RubberBand合作的監製作品亦屢獲殊榮，包括叱咤樂壇頒獎禮「至尊唱片大獎」及「我最喜愛的歌曲大獎」。2020年推出的大樂隊專輯《Sonder》於紐約錄製，由兩屆格林美獎得主Mike Marciano操刀，並由Sony Music發行。

過去Patrick多演繹Straight Ahead Jazz標準曲，展現紮實Bebop根基。是次他將與兩位風格鮮明的節奏組樂手合作，探索更現代的爵士語彙。Nelson Fung多年活躍於本地爵士圈，以穩定而厚實的低音線條見稱，為樂團奠定扎實基礎。

鼓手Steve Cheung（波子）則為三重奏注入融合Fusion與現代爵士的元素，深受Dave Weckl影響。他曾擔任張敬軒、Big Four等演唱會鼓手，並於ViuTV《擊戰》中擔任鼓手導師，擁有豐富舞台經驗與成熟技術。

三人將演奏一系列現代爵士作品，包括Herbie Hancock與Chick Corea的經典之作，以及對標準曲的現代詮釋，呈現更開放而富張力的聲音面貌。

Award-winning pianist Patrick Lui joins drummer Steve Cheung and bassist Nelson Fung for a modern jazz trio performance.

Patrick is a recipient of the Marvin Hamlisch International Music Award (Jazz Composition). His production work with RubberBand has earned major accolades, including “Album of the Year” and “My Favourite Song” at the Ultimate Song Chart Awards. His 2020 big band album Sonder, recorded in New York and engineered by two-time Grammy winner Mike Marciano, was released under Sony Music.

Previously known for straight-ahead jazz and strong bebop foundations, Patrick now explores a more contemporary sound with two distinctive rhythm players. Nelson Fung, a prominent member of Hong Kong’s jazz scene, provides a solid low-end anchor.

Drummer Steve Cheung, influenced by Dave Weckl, blends fusion and modern jazz concepts. He has performed with major pop artists including Hins Cheung and Big Four, and served as drum coach on ViuTV’s Battle of the Thone.

The trio will perform works by Herbie Hancock and Chick Corea, alongside modern reinterpretations of classic standards.
