Today is Patricia Frontain's birthday. It is also, in her own words, "the anniversary of a misguided youth taking [her] son's life." A few years ago, Patricia made this video to share who Patrick was. "The king of eighth grade," as he said.

Patricia wrote this morning that she has "a feeling that [her] guardian angel named Patrick is putting in a good work... with the powers that be."

Thanks to our friend @_martinascholz_ for designing our 10th anniversary logo. Back in April 2016, @patriciafrontain started Patrick Lives On as a way to process her grief and help kids stay safe, so other parents wouldn't know the agony of losing a child. On this day in 2016, @patriciafrontain created Patrick Lives On, a non profit dedicated to providing children with after-school programs so they wouldn't be out on the streets before going home. This weekend marks the tenth anniversary of the founding of Patrick Lives On. We are both exhilarated and saddened. Exhilarated, because we made it this far thanks to your support. Saddened, because of why we started this organization. May Patrick's memory be a blessing.

Patrick Lives On came about because a mother lost her son to gun violence. Despite her grief, she decided to create an organization that would support after-school programs aimed at limiting the amount of time kids are outside, vulnerable. Patrick Lives On has been honoring Patrick, and all those who have fallen to gun violence, for ten years now. We will showcase more of our programs in the coming weeks. This month marks the 10th anniversary of the foundation of Patrick Lives On.Out of bottomless grief and the most awful tragedy has come a community of supporters that has rallied around a mother who had made it her mission to help young kids, particularly middle school children, engage in afterschool activities that keeps them safe from gun violence.
