Sometimes I also create. Being a theatre maker then turns me into both creative and producer. I make things happen. I’ve learned to produce, project manage, lead the finances & evaluation of the teams I put together.

Something I also love is designing and delivering workshops. Workshops for communities, artists and I also work with young people. I’ve ran improv programmes as well as devising, theatre making & tailored mentoring. Recently my focus has been “Eating Stories” workshop aimed for anyone and everyone, hoping to have you on the next one.

#dubbing 🎙️ for the cutest alien 🪐

I’ve done loads #VO in the UK but mostly corporate/learning and some background voices for #videogames , this is my first job voicing a main character that goes on loads of adventures 🌎

The show it’s in Spanish and English! And it’s a way for kids to learn a new language ❤️.
It’s fun & exciting & challenging and I’m absolutely loving it.

Can’t wait to share it with you 🙌🏾❤️❤️

It’s crazy to think I used to fight the very body that brought me all the way here. It’s been a long time since I learned how to properly love my body. There was a time where I fixated so badly on what I desperately wanted to change. I still do not blame myself. There’s a lot out there feeding us ideas of restriction and hate. Funny to say feeding, because what they want the most is to starve us.

I’ve been performing ‘Eating Myself’ for a while now, a show that talks about female bodies, the societal pressures and expectations that we bear, and how much we’ve bought into shrinking and chasing the impossible. How we might have lost ourselves in that quest, forgetting about the real value of food, the rich tradition, and the immense love that it carries.
I am not that woman anymore, but I do get to play one on stage.

And I often meet people who tell me about the love of their grandmothers, the stories of the women in their lives. But I also hold spaces where people still tell me about their battles with food and how the play brings at least a bit of warmth to their hearts. That’s in China, in Peru, and all around the UK (from young people all the way to their grandparents)

I see people all over social media counting calories, trying to be someone different, letting their worth be measured through ridiculous beauty standards… it’s all so dangerous.

If you are out there and it’s hard: nobody is judging. It is a long journey. I wish I could hug you all tight, remind you how much you are loved. How much your body does for you, how incredible it is.
The day will come… you’ll discover there’s nothing more important than love, than pleasure, than solidarity… that your happiness has nothing to do with a number on the scale. I love you, hang in there.

3 tours in China 🇨🇳 & still feels pretty surreal.

It’s only this time that I’m able to express what we have been experiencing in all this trip, people in China really caring about our work. Taking the time to get to know us and opening their spaces with open arms.

For the theatre makers working in the UK you probably know how rare this is. How difficult it is to find the bare minimum ! But China exceeds all expectations, I’m so grateful for this opportunity. Travelling expands your heart and soul.

I want to keep creating spaces where people feel heard, where there’s true collaboration & mutual aid.

In the midst of so much hate in the UK… what are the moments & experiences that keep you hopeful? ❤️

Some key GP manifesto policy points I particularly love:
-Taxing multi-millionaires and billionaires to fund our public services. 💪🏽
-A carbon tax to make polluters pay and provide money to invest in the green transition.😍
-Restore public health budgets to 2015/16 levels with an immediate increase of £1.5billion.🥳
-Safe routes to sanctuary for those fleeing danger, persecution and war.🥹
-Give the power to local authorities to control rents if the local rental market is overheated. 🥰
-Nationalisation of water companies and Big 5 retail energy companies: £ 30billion🤩
-Invest £5 billion investment in community sports, arts and culture. 🎭

Protest songs to feel up your heart ❤️ with hope.

We got to sing some incredible revolutionary songs from the Abya Yala for this fundraising event for Cuba 🇨🇺🇨🇺 People sang and clapped to its rhythms, it was beautiful. To feel that connection , that understanding. Songs reminding us we are not alone, we can still dream together.

So I finally managed to get mi hermosa @pepaduartes to come and help me showcase the records I have been buying over the last 3 years to various visits to Peru. She has introduced me to so much new music, and although this music is part of my life now because of her, it's not music I grew up with. So it's been a real pleasure to hear her speak about the music she loves, the history, the different rhythms and where they come from. We dive into Cumbia, Chicha, Salsa, Cha cha cha and Merengue.

The uncertainty of the quiet times can be the hardest part of this job. 🎭
Instead of using that time to actually rest & recharge, I’ve spent so many of these gaps spiraling 🌀. Worrying about the next role/job blocking the very energy I needed to refresh myself.

It’s logical, living as an artist is precarious! Surviving without working its tough so I don’t want to romanticise it. But there are ways to utilise the time instead of beating yourself up.

- breathe 🍃 / read / walk / do something to slow down
- ⏳ time to think, NOT produce but dream, wonder. What else do you want to do? What have you postponed? What do you need?
- 🗣️ chat, share, get inspired by others and their experiences.

I’m opening up a small initiative to fight that isolation. I’ll be offering a few virtual coffee slots a month for anyone feeling self-doubt, wanting a space to chat about a project or just share where they at.

A space for solidarity and a chat with someone who gets it.
