The Barber Shop presents: ‘ACID COMMUNISM, thinking the commons from Mark Fisher’ - March 14th at @macccb.museu (15.30, floor -1 at Avenida211 exhibition)

In this session dedicated to Mark Fisher’s ACID COMMUNISM, the project space The Barber Shop revisits one of the central theorists of its programme through lectures by @sandra_odette_k Kypriotaki and @miguel_etc_cardoso , and a sound performance by @polido____

#MarkFisher (1968–2017) was a British cultural theorist, author, prolific blogger (known as K-Punk), and lecturer in Visual Cultures at Goldsmiths University, London. Also a former member of the Cybernetic Culture Research Unit (CCRU) and the founder of Zero Books, he is known for his influential work on neoliberalism, music, and mental health, most notably in his books Capitalist Realism, Ghosts of My Life, and The Weird and the Eerie.

Mark Fisher’s legacy marked a generation of writers and theorists, and his unfinished book project Acid Communism aims to revive the utopian potential of psychedelic counterculture to imagine a future beyond capitalist realism. It proposes fusing class consciousness with psychedelic consciousness to break with capitalist, neoliberal, and patriarchal regimes, and in doing so it keeps inspiring new horizons for collectivity.

This event is curated by Margarida Mendes, director of The Barber Shop (2009–2016), a project space dedicated to transdisciplinary artistic research originally located in the Avenida 211 building in Lisbon.

For about seven years, The Barber Shop project space hosted artists, philosophers, musicians, and curators to present their investigations in an intimate and exploratory way. It functioned as a small cultural embassy, opening doors to contemporary discourses on art society, and stimulating intersectional dialogue about the conditions of the world.

Event in english - Everyone welcome!

Domingo 15/06 - 18h @areyouwellread
@kaitlyndavies and i will be speaking w/ @lizpelly about her book “Mood Machine”.
Incredibly important book that I wish more people read, as listeners and/or musicians.
As (corporate) poptimism becomes more pervasive, Pelly stresses some longstanding questions on what’s the value of music (how do we think about it), what does “independent” mean, historical music industry business practices and labour rights. And, of course, the “saviour of the music industry”, the Spotify example.

Sábado 20/06 - 21h @smup_parede

28/05 🔊 Klein “Psalm’s Trust Vol.3”
18/06 🔊 @bergsonist “As If Reality?”

ENG⬇️
New programme for Batalha Centro de Cinema, co-curated with Diana Policarpo. A series of performances happening throughout the year, first two in May/June and continued in September-November.
Departing from sound and into the moving image, we’ve invited national and international artists for both new commissions and presentations of past work.

Opening with a commission for Klein, an additional volume to the sitcom-in-progress of “Psalm’s Trust”. The last volume was shown past November @ new theater hollywood, LA.
The sitcom continues over a vampire detective story, relaying evidence of Vol.2.

In June, Bergsonist presents a work developed during an artistic residency at ISSUE Project Room in 2022. Inspired by David Chalmer’s book “Reality+: Virtual Worlds and the Problems of Philosophy”, the work is informed by a creative approach based on intuition and fragment-based systems towards sonic and visual mediums.

PT⬇️

Ferramentas de processamento: Michael Norris Soundmagic Spectral, Dillon Bastan Coalescence, Ewan Bristow SpectraVeil, Zynaptiq Morph, iZotope RX, Waves IR-L Convolution Reverb.

View Instagram Stories in Secret

The Instagram Story Viewer is an easy tool that lets you secretly watch and save Instagram stories, videos, photos, or IGTV. With this service, you can download content and enjoy it offline whenever you like. If you find something interesting on Instagram that you’d like to check out later or want to view stories while staying anonymous, our Viewer is perfect for you. Anonstories offers an excellent solution for keeping your identity hidden. Instagram first launched the Stories feature in August 2023, which was quickly adopted by other platforms due to its engaging, time-sensitive format. Stories let users share quick updates, whether photos, videos, or selfies, enhanced with text, emojis, or filters, and are visible for only 24 hours. This limited time frame creates high engagement compared to regular posts. In today’s world, Stories are one of the most popular ways to connect and communicate on social media. However, when you view a Story, the creator can see your name in their viewer list, which may be a privacy concern. What if you wish to browse Stories without being noticed? Here’s where Anonstories becomes useful. It allows you to watch public Instagram content without revealing your identity. Simply enter the username of the profile you’re curious about, and the tool will display their latest Stories. Features of Anonstories Viewer: - Anonymous Browsing: Watch Stories without showing up on the viewer list. - No Account Needed: View public content without signing up for an Instagram account. - Content Download: Save any Stories content directly to your device for offline use. - View Highlights: Access Instagram Highlights, even beyond the 24-hour window. - Repost Monitoring: Track the reposts or engagement levels on Stories for personal profiles. Limitations: - This tool works only with public accounts; private accounts remain inaccessible. Benefits: - Privacy-Friendly: Watch any Instagram content without being noticed. - Simple and Easy: No app installation or registration required. - Exclusive Tools: Download and manage content in ways Instagram doesn’t offer.

Advantages of Anonstories
