“How did you get into photography?”

2024 has been a big growth year for me and this is a question I’m often asked.

I was a K9 handler in the marine corps and spent several years after my time in the military serving security contracts for the Dept. of State in Iraq and Afghanistan searching for explosives.

Sure, it’s an unlikely segue, but during my last few deployments I felt an emptiness that I hadn’t gotten more photos of all of the time I had spent overseas. So I decided to get my first “real” camera to capture the unique and precious moments that few people will ever get to experience and hopefully find the beauty in places that are often viewed as frightening.

My exploration began in a particularly challenging setting at the US Embassy in Kabul Afghanistan. Much of the things I wanted to shoot were limited because of operational security and the safety of the people I worked with. So I had to find creative ways to set up and shoot in ways that respected that.

I started with long lens landscape shots of the surrounding area of Kabul. It’s much more mountainous and rocky than most people expect. Then I took photos of my K9, Abel, who was the most beautiful and willing subject. Other handlers wanted photos with their dogs as well so we did a few portrait sessions.

Then while on my last deployment… COVID happened.

We were all locked down at the embassy as the world fell into panic. No one could fly in or out and no one knew what was going to happen to the world. Some of us even organized and strategized plans for the possibility that we might have to find our own way back to America.

Although it was a bit unnerving, enough time went by that it seemed we had everything under control and just had to wait it out. During that time, I did my best to make the most of the time I had been given. Diving deep into all of the YouTube videos I could find about photography.

I fell deeply in love with the craft and made it my solemn focus to do what I had discovered as my passion.

These are just a few photos of that story. I hope you enjoy 🙏

🌎Earth Day🌍

This morning I had the pleasure of working with @christopher_lee_creates and @makeupmadhouse

This was yet another amazing experience at @dbgphx

We arrived at 6am and sun slowly crept over the horizon giving us the most amazing light. First a soft even glow throughout the garden that slowly turned into the warm rays that pierced through the canopy and delivered to most dramatic display of what makes the world so beautiful.

Some shoots fill your memory cards, others… fill your heart!

This was exactly one of those experiences. No invoice. no bill, no charge. @ginamamaratzzi works incredibly hard to bring those with Down’s syndrome into a world filled with love and care and I wanted to support that story.

Some things are just worth showing up for!

There’s something that happens when a dancer steps into the Desert Botanical Garden at golden hour…

The light did more work than either of us, but she did the heavy lifting, and I just had to be ready.

Last Sunday we chased the sun through the cactus corridor, found magic in the aloe garden, and stayed until the garden lit up and the desert turned purple. Three costume changes, one incredibly talented dancer, and dozens of frames I couldn’t stop admiring.

This is why I do what I do.

@dbgphx After Dark ✨

I was invited out to shoot the latest marketing images for the Desert Botanical Gardens latest feature, After Dark.

Shoots like these can be really challenging because of the low light while shooting during regular hours.

It’s always my goal to be as unseen as possible in any shoot and create images that convey a clean intimate look. We had to wait several times for the regular visitors to move through and enjoy the garden without disrupting their experience. But the patience paid off and we got some great shots of their latest display that truly lights up the night!

2026 LEO Classic ⛳️

Brought to you by @lawenforcementspecialists

Last weekend I had the opportunity to support our boys in blue at @whirlwindgolf club for their 2026 LEO Classic.

Events like these are exactly what keeps my passion and drive for the craft of photography at peak levels. Everyone was there for a good time supporting an amazing cause.

The @holehecklers, despite saying the most terrible things, kept smiles on peoples faces for the whole day! Truly master of their craft!

@stickit_steff showed the boys what a pro can really do! Whether it was driving on one leg only or hitting a driver way shorter than any sane person would attempt, she demonstrated what a professional is truly capable of all while making it look good!

@mcsoaz even made a scene in their ultra high tech helicopter on full tilt!

One of my favorite events of 2026, so far, but I expect this one to hold up for a while!

Went to my first Disc Golf event last weekend for the 2026 Memorial in Fountain Hills AZ.

Regardless of the sport, it’s always fun to watch the best in the world do what they do. The level of accuracy and consistency to throw a disc hundreds of feet is quite the sight.

Big shout out to @gannon_buhr for his win and @spinnersdiscgolf for putting together an awesome event!

🎃🌵 Strange Garden 2025 — A Night of Magic, Music, and the Unexpected!

I had an amazing time photographing the Desert Botanical Garden’s annual Strange Garden event, one of my favorite evenings of the year to capture.

Between the creative costumes, eerie lighting, and the Garden’s natural desert beauty, there’s no shortage of visual inspiration. Events like these are a perfect reminder of why I love event photography, the mix of candid moments, storytelling, and atmosphere all coming together in a single frame.

Huge thanks to the team at Desert Botanical Garden for continuing to trust me to document your incredible events year after year. It’s always a privilege to help showcase the energy and spirit that make the Garden such a special place in the community.

Here’s to another strangely wonderful night! 👻📸

New Leadership, Fresh Perspective

I recently had the pleasure of photographing Chris Kline, the new President and CEO of the Desert Botanical Garden here in Phoenix.

It’s always a privilege to create professional portraits that capture both personality and purpose, especially for an organization as inspiring as the Garden, where I’ve had the honor of photographing a variety of events and projects over the years.

Chris brings an exciting vision for the Garden’s next chapter, and it was great to help convey that through clean, confident headshots that reflect his approachable and forward-thinking leadership style.

Here’s to new beginnings and continued growth, both in the desert and behind the lens. 🌵✨

View Instagram Stories in Secret

The Instagram Story Viewer is an easy tool that lets you secretly watch and save Instagram stories, videos, photos, or IGTV. With this service, you can download content and enjoy it offline whenever you like. If you find something interesting on Instagram that you’d like to check out later or want to view stories while staying anonymous, our Viewer is perfect for you. Anonstories offers an excellent solution for keeping your identity hidden. Instagram first launched the Stories feature in August 2023, which was quickly adopted by other platforms due to its engaging, time-sensitive format. Stories let users share quick updates, whether photos, videos, or selfies, enhanced with text, emojis, or filters, and are visible for only 24 hours. This limited time frame creates high engagement compared to regular posts. In today’s world, Stories are one of the most popular ways to connect and communicate on social media. However, when you view a Story, the creator can see your name in their viewer list, which may be a privacy concern. What if you wish to browse Stories without being noticed? Here’s where Anonstories becomes useful. It allows you to watch public Instagram content without revealing your identity. Simply enter the username of the profile you’re curious about, and the tool will display their latest Stories. Features of Anonstories Viewer: - Anonymous Browsing: Watch Stories without showing up on the viewer list. - No Account Needed: View public content without signing up for an Instagram account. - Content Download: Save any Stories content directly to your device for offline use. - View Highlights: Access Instagram Highlights, even beyond the 24-hour window. - Repost Monitoring: Track the reposts or engagement levels on Stories for personal profiles. Limitations: - This tool works only with public accounts; private accounts remain inaccessible. Benefits: - Privacy-Friendly: Watch any Instagram content without being noticed. - Simple and Easy: No app installation or registration required. - Exclusive Tools: Download and manage content in ways Instagram doesn’t offer.
