Precious joined English National Ballet in 2014 following the Prix de Lausanne, and over her 11 seasons with us, she has delighted audiences in countless performances, in both classical and contemporary ballets.
Highlights include the lead role in Christopher Wheeldon’s Cinderella in-the-round at the Royal Albert Hall, the Chosen One in Pina Bausch’s Le sacre du printemps (The Rite of Spring), Myrtha in Mary Skeaping’s Giselle, Mother in Mats Ek’s The Rite of Spring, roles in ballets by William Forsythe (In The Middle, Somewhat Elevated; Approximate Sonata (2016); Playlist (EP)), the Ice Queen and Sugar Plum Fairy in Aaron S. Watkin and Arielle Smith’s Nutcracker. She also performed the famous Calliope Rag in Kenneth MacMillan’s Elite Syncopations, as part of the celebration of the choreographer at the Royal Opera House in 2017, and Balanchine’s Who Cares solo at our 70th Anniversary Gala in 2020.
“This company shaped and developed me into who I have become now”, says Precious. “ENB gave me my first chances, my greatest lessons, my deepest joys, and a home where I learned how to take the stage. Precious joined English National Ballet in 2014 following the Prix de Lausanne, and over her 11 seasons with us, she has delighted audiences in countless performances, in both classical and contemporary ballets.
Highlights include the lead role in Christopher Wheeldon’s Cinderella in-the-round at the Royal Albert Hall, the Chosen One in Pina Bausch’s Le sacre du printemps (The Rite of Spring), Myrtha in Mary Skeaping’s Giselle, Mother in Mats Ek’s The Rite of Spring, roles in ballets by William Forsythe (In The Middle, Somewhat Elevated; Approximate Sonata (2016); Playlist (EP)), the Ice Queen and Sugar Plum Fairy in Aaron S. Watkin and Arielle Smith’s Nutcracker. She also performed the famous Calliope Rag in Kenneth MacMillan’s Elite Syncopations, as part of the celebration of the choreographer at the Royal Opera House in 2017, and Balanchine’s Who Cares solo at our 70th Anniversary Gala in 2020.

Yesterday was really special! I got to meet the craftsmen men who make my pointe shoes and see the whole process @freedoflondon . It’s kind of like a pilgrimage for ballerinas to meet their maker at the freed factory 🏭
The logistics of planning whose shoes get made when and shipping pallets all over the world really opened my eyes to what goes into providing a handmade product like this to masses of dancers. It feels like you have made it as a ballerina when you get your fully bespoke pointe shoe where the same one craftsman can make adjustments to your shoe. Every time Sophie from freed as fitted me or suggested what would work for me I have just come to love my freeds more and mores!
I met one of my makers, Alan, aka🔺🤙🏾 such a cool guy, he listens to Jungle while he works. I also wear K maker’s shoes now but he works out of the other new facility just outside London. Big thank you to Tommy and Sophie for sharing everything with us and sharing so much of their time and knowledge.

The @englishnationalballet first soloist, who will be joining The Australian Ballet (@ausballet) as a senior artist in January, completed her first half-marathon this past August.
