OFF CUTS 👏 We opened the 20th edition of Don Whyte’s infamous Off Cuts exhibition on the first night of the festival - what an opener!
Don got on the table to make a speech (iconic) and it’s pretty incredible to know that over the last two decades, there’s been around 2000 Off Cuts pieces submitted by local artists and artists from across the world, that have made their way into art collections across Australia - raising approximately $100,000 for a wide range of local charities and arts orgs.
And that’s all thanks to the community support 🫶

Raw Earth Paintings
2 new original works made with raw earth pigments on linen.
Pigments collected from old campfires, reclaimed dredging sites and wild clay, made with hands and finder nails.
Both works will be on show at my upcoming exhibition

We have plenty of milestones to share with you during the DSAF this year, so we wanted to give you a program sneak peek: we are teaming up with @chapmanbaileydarwin (formerly Don Whyte Framing) and @qubit_gallery again to co-host the 20TH EDITION of Off Cuts - and it’s going to be huge!
🎨 IF YOU WANT TO BE INVOLVED: Canvases are available for pick up from 🎨 IF YOU WANT TO BE INVOLVED: Canvases are available for pick up from Chapman & Bailey (5/1 Travers St, Coconut Grove) during opening hours. This exhibition is open to everyone, but entries are limited to one per person - so get in quick and get involved! All canvases need to be returned to the @proper_creative shed, 6 Charles St, Stuart Park, by Friday May 15th.
This year’s theme: MOVEMENT

The Muse multi studios (Sudan Art Archive), in partnership with Qubit Incubator, invites artists from Sudan and Australia to apply for a 12-month Fellowship on Alternate and Living Archival Practices.
Through a series of Knowledge Lab sessions, collaborative research, and artistic experimentation, fellows will engage archives not as static repositories, but as living systems shaped by communities, memory, and practice.
