The first can design we did for Paria (2017). @paria.cc just posted about it so it’s prompted this.

It was a happy period working with North. Everything was new territory for us and there were plenty of rules still to break… This was a bold move for us - releasing a beer with a teasingly minimal P on the front. It went down well though and opened the gates creatively. The beer was decent I seem to recall.

I had a listening party with myself last night, and read through all of the lyrics. The album feels like an honest and clear portrait of this stage of life: running down to the river each morning and completing the loop at Tellisford, Somerset, turning 40, family becoming the centre, the struggle to keep the warmth and love and creative fire alive, parents moving into a new phase and my own children blowing my ego apart in the most beautiful way possible. I hope somewhere along the way, it resonates with you. It has been described as “self-aware, post-dad rock”. Nail on head?

I made this album on Tuesdays during 2024, an often quite solitary pursuit but also employing the many talents of Leana Green, @rosannaschuramusic, @jimmy.norden, @augusta.music @tomchadd, @petejosef, @hugh.soma_studio and @matthardy.drums.
