This is a perfect time to get cozy on a blanket, breathe in the serene side of Musique Électronique, drift off into the clouds above you, and/or co-create with us by drawing, painting, writing, etc.

An influential visionary, an electro pioneer, and one of electronic music's most prolific producers. For more than two decades Rother has aggregated a vast musical canon that reflects his unique career as a sound researcher exploring the aesthetics far beyond the boundaries of electro, techno and pop music. Starting his recording career in the late '80s, the Offenbach-based producer established himself in Germany's electronic music scene with his first two releases, "Sex With The Machines" (1997) and "Simulationszeitalter" (2000).

In 1998, he founded his label Psi49Net, allowing him to keep his artistic independence and showcase his vision of electro music that cultivated a unique storytelling approach, guided by dystopian future visions on societal changes due to technological progress. It's time to celebrate that elusive creature — the Midwest Freak — at Midwest Freaks 3. A moment of solidarity between 3 community building crews, Intellephunk from Minneapolis, Remain in Night from Madison, and Interdimensional Transmissions from Detroit. This is the third iteration since we've combined crews, with previous shows in secret warehouses in Madison and Minneapolis, so we are glad to bring it home to Detroit for a mindbender with special guest Rrose at the transformed Tangent on March 7th — going to 6am. The second one in a Minneapolis warehouse went far beyond that with a closing set by Daniel Bell. For the third edition we are bringing the freaks to Detroit, at IT’s spiritual home — @tangentgallery, where @ithqdetroit will team up with @intellephunk and @remaininnight for a party that goes all the way in, going til 6AM.

This is a collaboration of three community building crews, with the concept of celebrating the Midwest Freaks. Each crew is extremely dedicated to the quality of the experience, each crew believes in transforming the space for a deeper connection to the music, each crew hangs parachutes at their parties.
